Stupid Geoff Tate has a 5 octave range ( Queensryche ) and so does Pat Benatar In fact a lot of people you have no clue about have 5 octave ranges. It takes a bit out of you and the practice is grueling and takes years.

But opera is a valid singing style, unlike rap that is not singing at all. But you have to have several octaves to actually sing. and Heavy metal you better have 5 octaves. Those high notes can be a killer.
