I think it's good people are shifting away from the big tech companies. Not just purely for political reasons either. Ultimately most of the major websites haven't improved their services in years, and this is largely due to the fact that there's no competition. If you have multiple sites competing, they will be forced to constantly improve in order to keep their user base.
The UI isn't bad. Not the best I have ever seen, but not bad.
Both the side banner and the main area scroll down. The main viewport will continue to load more of their "featured" creators as you continue to scroll down.
Everything is responsive and there is no chugging, even with my decidedly middle-low end computer.

Making an account is painless.
Go up to the top right, click the icon.
And enter in a very basic set of information.
There seems to be no 2 Factor Authentication feature/setup anywhere on the site. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough though.
This is the home page when you are logged in.
Not much changes.
Before we do anything else, I am going to hit this at the top left of the screen:
much better.
Now, before we get too invested in this site, let's do a little digging on how the site funds itself.
Pay $5 dollars (a month) and get a "free" GunStreamer Patch.
So, it is a bit like an in house Patreon.
They add a surcharge of 35 cents + 2.9%.
ok...
They are fairly hesitant to give out much information related to Contributus. So I looked up their website: http://www.contributus.com/
So, they ARE an in house payment service. Contributors can donate directly to the content creator without leaving the site.
They also say they are pro free speech.
Content locks behind content creator made paywalls, like patreon.
Looking deeper....
yadda yadda yadda....
digital wallets, highest tiers include everything below it yadda yadda...
So, THIS is interesting, they take a MINIMUM of 12% of the money being transferred.
Contributus is not responsible for anything, it falls on the content creator to do their own job.
The entire thing works like Youtube and Patreon got smashed together.
They are based in Utah.
A legal sperg can go through the rest of that if they want to.
Thats all I have time for right now, I will mention that GunStreamer is able to upload your entire Youtube Channel. A nice feature for long time content creators.
