Plurals / Clusters / Systems - Pronouns: we / us / ours

Edit: also, it’s not that rare. 1.5% of the US population is still almost 5 million people.
Quoting an earlier post I made in this thread:
The 1% statistic is an average that's been pooled from various studies, almost all of which are conducted in psychiatric institutions and similar settings, where there will obviously be higher likelihood of seeing people with the diagnosis.

Like, tell me straight: would someone who "has" DID use plural pronouns?
Depends on how distorted their perception of self is, but it's usually only using "they" in therapy.

Are you in some sort of mental health field that brings you in close contact with people who have DID on a regular basis? Not trying to sound like a dick, but my understanding is that true cases of the condition are extremely rare, so I’m partially just curious how you know so much about people with legitimate DID.
They are extremely rare over about 15 years I've seen less then 10 and I focus on serious mental illness and disabilities in my training and work. I did my master's thesis on it because rare disorders interest me so that is why I know a bit about it, it really isn't even taught in abnormal psych courses because its so rare you will run into it unless you specialize in trauma.

Edit: also, it’s not that rare. 1.5% of the US population is still almost 5 million people. If you filled a church, 1-2 of those people would statistically be afflicted.
On the prevalance rates people the DSM-V admited that the rates were from a "small community" they are hardly generalizable.

You’re gonna get powerleveled dude

Also, like people tend to congregate together. Less then 0.6% of the US population is trans, yet most trans people irl have congregated mostly around other trans people.

The internet especially is a very strong tool for bringing like people together.

Powerleveling about studying serious mental illnesses doesn't narrow Syo down any further than narrowing you down based on "someone who talks out of their ass"

Used to hang around as a stupid kid who was into trendy mental illnesses with groups of people who either really had it or faked it. Got sick of it and did a fuck ton of research so I could call people on their bullshit.

When you spend time around people who want to trend shit or only get information from tumblr, it helps to actually be educated.
Sounds like someone got their education through Dr. Google

Actually got mine from actual doctors, AKA medical school.

But now that we're done being petty...

This particular person also has a penchant for writing bad poetry and quoting song lyrics on their twitter

Wasn’t this thread about making fun of extra exceptional tumblrinas? I don’t think it was made so people can medfag about how much they know about a condition. I’m not the creator of the thread though so that’s just my two cents.

On another note, I consider myself a very open and accepting person, but if someone started talking about their ‘alters’ and asking to be called by we/us pronouns, I’d chuck them right in the same box as transtrenders and transabled. I’m surprised they haven’t disrespected legit transgender people even more by calling themselves ‘transidentites’ or ‘transpersonalitied’. Would fit right in with their special snowflake desires.

they're white, physically. i think the headdress icon really makes it.

Why does it have the "bot" tag next to the username then.
this is something stupid i explained a few pages back, but plural servers often use bots to do the job of changing their avatars and usernames for every "alter." Dyani wrote the command to the bot saying, "post as Dyani, write "i'm racist? because etc. etc." and it comes out looking like that.

The fact that do stuff like this should prove it's all roleplay to them to anyone with half a brain.

Just in general, I believe DID is like being trans - there is a very small group of people who actually have a severe mental problem that is causing them great distress. But they are a minority within the much larger group of people who fake it for attention, or their own gratification, or because of peer pressure, or any of the many reasons people talk about their alters or pretend to be a fifteen-year-old Japanese girl when they're a man in their late 30s.

But the focus of the Farms in both cases isn't on the genuine cases, because they're not lolcows. So it's kind of irrelevant because people with these actual mental issues mostly just want to keep their head down and live their life, and generally also despise the fakers because they make their life harder.

I remember a dude who made several steam accounts and used them all in a single group chat for his 'personalities'. When you go that far, there's no way in hell you don't automatically think "Okay this is kind of fucking stupid and forced", unless you're like, severely brain damaged.

I've noticed it's almost always white people doing that shit. They should just embrace that they're racist, especially if they think it's racist when 'singlets' claim to be uncomfortable with being white. Being a system shouldn't give them special privileges.

One of my friends sent me a screenshot of a system complaining about being a white person awhile back.
