Thats something I've noticed about how the JP actors treat franchises they're in such as advertising it both passively and actively even years later down the line.

Only a few times have I've seen someone dunk on something they were in and that was only because they were fixing it. (See FFXIV)

Or are fully fed up and depressed. (Victory Gundam, the director Tomino)

Personally only focused on anime but I'm more immersed in the sub because the voices sounds more genuine then the dubs. The dubs either feel like their trying to much, adds something to the voice that makes it sound worse, feels like it's just lacking something, or they go over the top making it go flat.
JP is just more consistent, even bad shows have better VA's then most dub shows have imo.
