Closest thing is like selling foam fingers at a sports event(emotes) and being pissed off, yelling into a crowd because someone scored a goal(saying dumb shit in twitch chat).

Phil's chat is usually small enough that you can follow along. When you are watching someone with a thousand people talking it is almost pointless unless you send money for the streamer to read it. Nick Rekieta or Metokur for example have chats that go so fast you have almost no chance of a free message getting read. Tevin too, to a lesser extent.

Phil should have no problem keeping up with chat. He also doesn't even read people's complete cheers most of the time. He is so scared of saying something to get banned. Metokur on the other hand, "Gasthejews1488 says, 'Hey Jim can you call my friend Joe a nigger? Ok, Joe you are a nigger'".

As for the emotes, I don't get it either. Phil says they are cool and fun. He also puts a GIF at the end of all his big tweets and those are just as dumb in my opinion. I guess posting a LIMB emote when Phil bans someone is the same joke as someone like Tevin saying it out loud.

Stream.me had much better emotes and when a stream really got popping the chat would devolve into hundreds of flashing spammed emotes. It was pure chaos. It was kind of like that during the Sekiro cheese spam incident.

I guess the only purpose I see emotes having is flooding the chat and pissing off the streamer. So they don't really have a legit purpose, I don't know.

i've always seen emotes as a form of short hand
want to tell a streamer his play was trash? PogPotato or some shit, thats how i always used them

Man decided to pop in on the sonic stream and I just dont understand streaming culture. what possesses someone to bother talking in a stream chat with some autistic one liner. the only time ive ever even cared about a stream chat is when I was in a low quality stream with like 20 people and the streamer and everyone else was actually involved in one discussion.

I just dont get it, I dont get subbing for emotes either, who gives a fuck about some lame ass little image you can only use on one shitty site. Its all just goofy shit to me, Jesus is this what getting old is like?

ex: Saying "pogchamp" or "kappa" in casual discussion

It's something that makes you embarrassed for the person who says it. I never thought I would be an old man in my mid-twenties though.

I don't get it either but then at the same time I don't understand the appeal of watching people play video games, at least not to the extent as it's become popular. If someone is really fucking good at the game or is truly funny or engaging, that I understand. But that's being an entertainer like any other sort, and just like any other type of entertainment there are people right for it but most aren't, and I'll never understand every whitebread asshole or thot with a canyon of cleavage gaining an audience.

I don't like streamers that play the shit Dave does. I do follow some streamers on twitch, and they usually play longer games like Factorio, My Summer Car, Dwarf Fortress, etc. Mainly games I really like but don't have enough Aspergers in me to actually play. Usually throw them on and then go do shit around the house just listening in.

About the only time I watch someone play a game is if they are very good at it or if it's a game I'm curious about but don't want to invest the time and money to actually play it. Phil fits neither of these categories because he is garbage at everything he plays and talks over cutscenes.

Yeah when you have a massive chat you start talking to them as one whole unit. Example being "Big poggers emote if i should do this or that" or "press 1 in the chat if this and that".

Dave tries doing this crap but he doesn't have that at all. With his "alottapeepul" and "everyone agrees" shit he pulls is to throw off his youtube audience. The cheese emote spam is pretty much twitch in general. It's funny because he's such a boomer he just sat there for a minute complaining about his wrist acting like he's reading chat when its a wall full of cheese.

Anyway, he has a very low audience and his chat is filled with bullshit anyway, he doesn't and shouldn't even attempt it at all. Which is probably why he pulls alottapeepulagree shit. He has nothing to bounce off of because he's such a boring fuck who gives non answers.
