Those one day bans show just how transparent the mods are. The bans are tacked on to try to give the appearance of moderation, yet the short durations betray the mod's actual feelings. In their eyes, calling for the harassment and assault towards someone is small potatoes (or encouraged, going by the laughably short durations) compared to supporting a video game or a restaurant.

On a normal forum, calls for harassing a teenager would never be tolerated with a slap on the wrist.

The actual ban lengths listed should be taken with a grain of salt.

The mods have internal debates over bans and extend and shorten (lol no) them at a whim.

No, and they never did. Much like 4chan, such content would be immediately deleted. If they didn't, the site would have been shut down much like other chans that ceased to exist for such content.

They finally got rid of even borderline content, like the sort of shit that went on on banned subreddits like /creepshots/ because they were an incessant problem. Much like 4chan itself, you will still have dipshits who post that kind of stuff on things like a corporate Q&A which is why it's probably still a really insanely bad idea to do such things there.
