Overwatch

Quick update: Started Competitive Capture the Flag Season 2 at 900 Bronze. Ended at 2250 Gold. Mained Mei, but always swapped to Junkrat on University because he could shut down the tunnels single-handedly. On Mei I was able to carry teams from bronze to gold, but once I got to gold, useless players started having a real detrimental effect on my winrate. The worst players were the Bastions who sat behind the flag and didn't move the entire game and, of course, the Widows who stood with them and couldn't shoot for shit. Playing defense is the dumbest thing you could do in CtF because it just pushes the conflict to your flag instead of the middle of the map, which hands the enemy team a clear advantage.

Immortality Field sounds like its going to be a thing where whichever team activates it first, loses.

It is not his ultimate ability, it's currently 8 seconds of immortality on a 20 second cooldown. It generates a drone that's targetable (200 HP) but only time will tell how target able it becomes. Worst case would for it to be behind several barriers in a GOATS setup.
 
I can see at least some thought needing to be put into the barrier since it'll be difficult to double both healing and damage in an active fight. That immortality field seems like a dangerous idea that will make him a must include.

I don't know how I feel about his kit, but naturally people are either crowing about how great inclusion for Haitians is or bitching about him not being a woman as well. God the internet really was a mistake.

Mercy is going to pay the toll... I'm 100% sure of this. The only way they can get anyone to talk about this fucking game is by generating controversy. This move is going to upset so many people, it's inevitable. She's enjoyed the privilege of being the only attractive white girl in the game all this time, gotta pay the toll...

If Blizzard makes Mercy officially pair with any character but Pharah the very tumblr crowd they are desperately pandering to will turn on them so hard they'll get whiplash in the process.

That should befairly easy to stop these days with the multiple paths and ust knowledge of the characters. I argue those three that close together is a death sentence for any team due to that's half the team eliminated if someone uses an offensive ultimate ability. Of course this being Overwatch everyone needs to feel special for doing the minimal amount of work which is why Briggite was made to be more offensive and less support even though she is labeled as a support. I think the thing with OW is that there is two extremes Blizzard can't find a middle ground to as either you are Mercy who is focused on healing or you're some weird Frankenstein monster of a hero like Briggite and even Baptiste that has a healing ability on top of other things they can do.

A massive improvement to the custom game creator was just added to the game. Its called the Overwatch Workshop and allows you to create all kinds of crazy custom games including 'Floor is Lava' 'Hide and Seek' and 'Battle Royale.' It apparently also comes packaged with a pretty powerful hero creation tool.

Hero creation tool like literally making your own hero? Who am I kidding here Blizzard's idea of customization was fucking around with sliders.

The only thing you'd have to do is to mod an OK hand weapon into the game, because everything about Overwatch is gay, including heroes.

Hopes are still in the ground but maybe they'll try to be more community centric rather than esports centric. Then again the whole browser thing was to just let the community somewhat create their own experience with a set of sliders to play with which effectively made every game feel the same no matter who made it. But I am weary of this considering the OW is terrible at actually creating things that isn't something they can fap to (Once again I bring up the game browser and the derivative games that flooded it).

Anniversary is out and the first two workshop levels to be turned into official playmodes are now live. No idea when Workshop itself goes live, but people are expecting soon since the ptr was just ended.

Meanwhile, blizzard just added a voice line you're going to hear spammed in every match until the end of time.
