Amanda was terrifying because she is as good at getting the things she wants as Jaq was and she got them literally days after Jaquie did. Jaquie got a pink and purple tilite custom chair with smart drive? A week later Amanda has one but the colors are reversed. Same golden retriever service dog, self-trained, with all hot pink gear. Mic-key button tube, Kate farms, the whole she-bang. Literally bought the same bed as Jaquie the day after Jaquie got hers. And went to the same doctors and Jaquie visited her in the hospital.

Jan fails at munchie because she doesn't want to do anything painful or even uncomfortable. Amanda will do whatever it goddamned takes to look as sick as she claims to be. (To be honest even though I know a fuckton about Jaquie, Amanda is my favourite munchie I ever came across. She was just so damn creepy.)

I'm trying to figure out exact dates which is difficult when Amanda shut down all her social media in the face of criticism. She announced she was getting her chair sometime in early December 2017 (/snow/ anon posted it on the 7th). Jaquie got hers in late October of that year but didn't switch to the SmartDrive until very late november. So less than two months between chairs, a week between power assist devices.

Edit: I lied, she didn't actually receive the chair until February 6, 2018.

would also like to mention while on the topic of munchies who love to take the background spotlight by modding subs like IF, the new mods of the fallout sub r/munchausensbyinternet are all "famous" in the chronic illness community on instagram, friends with many of the subjects they post about, and seem to be munchies themselves.

Primarily pea protein, agave syrup, brown rice syrup, sunflower oil, and coconut oil with a "superfood blend" made up of a bunch of fruits and vegetables in minuscule quantities.

Also things that are sold as weight loss supplements like green coffee bean extract and green tea.

Worth mentioning Kate Farms is famous for "hashtag hunting" for chronic illness insta accounts to offer samples/spotlights to. I don't know if they still do this but that's why all the big accounts including actually sick people like Mary Frey switched over within a few weeks. Mary Frey claimed she got very ill from it because it didn't work with her pancreatic enzyme cartridge.

Yes, but not as often and usually to get something other than attention. They want drugs, time off of work, disability compensation, etc. In other words, they're much more likely to be malingerers. Because of that, they don't document it on social media anywhere near as much. They also tend to not keep up their sick and disabled act when they think no one important (doctor, boss) is watching. In front of strangers and their families they act normal, whereas someone with Munchausen wants every single person they encounter to believe they're as sick as they claim.

Since the munchausen case wants attention/sympathy above anything else, public documentation is a risk they'll take. The fear of being caught isn't as great as the desire to have 100k followers on Instagram to tell you how brave and strong you are. It's essentially a compulsion to talk about it. The person scamming workman's comp for an injury they claim makes them unable to work is not going to document himself going to Disney World because the fear of being ratted out is much greater than whatever thrill they'd get from having 800 likes on a photo.

I have only personally run across one biological male who was a pure munchie, a troon who briefly documented his attempts to get diagnosed with everything under the sun and get all the fun munchie toys (he did manage to get a port and saline for "POTS" which is mind-boggling since spironolactone, part of the mtf med combo, causes the exact same symptoms as POTS and everyone else just loads up on salt and water). However after a few times of being called out for his shit, he disappeared and has yet to reappear. So even when they do purely fake for attention, they don't tend to have the unflappable resolve it takes to face the inevitable criticism and questions like these crazy bitches do.

The thing is they manage to hospitalize themselves for birthdays and holidays and minor family vacations, then bloobloo about how sad it is. If you don’t think about how much more pity they get for missing out vs the enjoyment they get for participating, it can appear they really are missing out on everything they want to do. And Jaquie had a real knack for explaining why her health problems didn’t affect her in Disney - she only went at night for a few hours, she rarely showed that she went on multiple rides in a day and only once on one of the really intense ones, and she used their medical stations to administer her drugs (at one point even infusing saline on the jungle cruise). And she always made sure to “fade” by the time fireworks started and need to leave.

Anelise/Tina now has a sutured NG tube (they stitched it to the inside of her nose so she can’t remove it.) so much for gastroparesis so bad she needs TPN.

In comparison to Jackie and Morgan though she hasn't put on weight since taking up medical marijuana. They were both eating and using tubes etc for nutrition.

So, the doctor probably said, “Oh, I have a fix for that.” And she was backed into a corner where she had to take that. The male equivalent of extreme munchies is really far out shit like trooning out, body dysmorphia where they try to get legs chopped off, that kind of thing.
