Hiya @Holden
Something I think we'd all like to know:
When was your last consensual sexual experience?
How many times have you had sex? That would be a number, not "lots of times, for real guys"
What do you think is a feature or quality that a woman could find attractive in you?

But the thing is @Holden, the people featured on shows like Jeremy Kyle (sorry i messed the name up) or the US equivalents like Jerry Springer are NOT increasingly the norm. They are featured on those shows precisely because people react with disgust, or point and laugh, much like what we do here. In fact quiet, shy nerdy types are actually all the rage right now in pop culture, judging by what friends tell me about shows like big bang theory, and one of the characters agreed on by women here as very sexy on TWD (which i do download and watch) is Daryl Dixon, a skinny, ackward, odd looking outcast. In my experience the pendulum here has swung away from the macho or bad boy stereotype, and towards the introspective ackward guys. We have all seen how one can be wrong about stereotypes with truck drivers, perhaps one can be wrong about so called welfare sluts. Here's a hint. Most people who receive gov't benefits in the US work.

You forget he's in Croatia so culturally it's still 1985. Just wait until you guys get nu-metal. You're gonna love Linkin Park, MaryJane. Their music will resonate with your very soul.

Actually, Marijan, I kind of like that photo of you (that is you, right?) as DJ Leviathan that Purple dug up. I personally am a fan of longish hair and beards, although not all women share my taste. The most important thing about that photo, though, is that something that night, just before that photo was snapped, made you happy enough to smile. A smile is hugely attractive to the women I know (I throw that in largely because although I am a woman, I cannot speak for every woman in existence ever on issues of personal preference like that). That's not a smile that looks dangerous or violent. Whatever was going on, you look happy and relaxed. That kind of body language is a huge start.

You asked me if I think you're close to being married. Not tomorrow, no! But if you reevaluated your standards, you might find some woman who, while she enjoys voting (in the US anyway, most issues that come up on local ballots affect both sexes: should there be higher taxes to improve public schools, should a gas pipeline be run through our area, which of two men should be governor, that kind of thing) does have empathy for men. You said you didn't care about Mr. Horse but I feel I should tell you one thing: he is a survivor of domestic violence in his first marriage. I was one of the people who helped him recognize the danger he was in (yes, I said danger, never underestimate a crazy woman with a knife, and she hates feminism nearly as much as you do so that's not why) because, although men are a tiny fraction of domestic abuse victims, I still feel there should be funding for shelters, support groups, etc. to help them get out. Even a vote-loving freak like me can have empathy for problems specific to men.

Anyway, if you don't reject all suffrage-supporting women, and you dig deep inside yourself to find the happiness that showed up in that photo, I think you could be married someday. It helps if you don't assume we're all the same. That's kind of a major point. You had some bad experiences. If I gave up on men because of all the bad experiences I had had, I wouldn't have been watching out for Mr. Horse and able to help him when he needed it. (I do mean he had to escape from that woman. This is how much of a good man he is: he couldn't bring himself to hit back, just to push her away, and he still hasn't forgiven himself for putting hands on the mother of his child, even to save his own life when she was coming at him with a big fucking knife.)

They won't marry him. A dumb jerk doesn't care about relationships. They'll be attracted to him because such men are currently most successful with women.
If your assessments only include people who have no interest in long-term relationships, then their relevance is extremely small. And I thought every woman knew to at least be careful around men who are either too popular or too unpopular with women.

That's not how it worked. You don't get a woman for money like you're being something unless you buy a mail order bride of something. It's just that women are attracted to providers in sane cultures like they are to jerks in sick ones.
If the biggest difference between two suitors is that one has lots of money or similar resources and the other does not, and the rich suitor argues that she should choose him purely because he has those resources, then do you think he is not trying to get a woman for money? How is that different from prostitution?

Edited to remove a personal point that may not have been accurate

I may want to clarify that I am referring to people who have no interest in long-term relationships but are not asexual or celibate.

I now consider that Holden actually likes prostitutes...

But here's the thing, Toasty - I am not talking about lolcows here. They are all people of various level of eccentricity. I am saying that posters here, those who claim to laugh at lolcows, are like those people at Jeremy Kyle. Not all of them but most seem that way.

well, big bang theory is just a show and i don't know what TWD is but irrelevant. these people are famous. even a tiny bit of fame gets you women. i had various women openly say they'd have sex with me if i lived in closer (well, much closer but you get what i'm saying) and these weren't no trolls. i even had women who wanted to come here.
but when i go on dates women don't know my work. they don't know about my blog. when they google my actual name they don't find anything . if it weren't so you think i'd have gone on all these dates?. so to these women feel i am boring to them.

sorry, i don't see this. i am repeatedly called awkward and incels are repeatedly called that as well. why, if the pendulum has swung? public hasn't caught on yet?

BUT I SAID I PERSONALLY HAVE NO STEREOTYPES ABOUT TRUCK DRIVERS. I just used them as a convenient term. As for welfare sluts, I know enough about US to know it's a work obsessed society, don't worry. I know a lot of details, including clinton's welfare reform (now compare that to a fool like flossman, who doesn't even know what eastern europe is because he thinks i am from it and it should tell you how superior i am to an average american). Why do you think so many people here claim its bad that I don't have a job though they'll never say women should just marry the first provider they see? Because they're work obsessed idiots.

But those who usually have most kids and are most retarded often don't work, do drugs etc. Also, America is not the entire western world.

Besides, even if all worked, it still wouldn't change the main issue and that is that providers are no longer attractive. So maybe women shouldn't have access to that many jobs? There are arguments for that as well.

You're still pissed off I corrected your statement on the Nazi policy regarding Slavs, aren't you?

Translation: MARIJAN CANNOT FIND MARIJAN'S WINKY. WHERE IS WINKY?! MARIJAN NEEDS WINKY!

As others have pointed out, @Holden, this idea you have about how a marriage should consist of male provider/female birther and bond servant has never exsisted historically, other than in extreme upper classes. Throughout most of human history, men, women and children have all worked to provide for families. This idea of man as provider and woman as passive reciever is a fantasy. You have asked if a woman would accept a man without knowing him as her husband if she knew he was a provider as some sort of measure of sanity. I ask you, would you accept a woman you had never seen and knew nothing about other than she was fertile, unquestioningly faithful and wanted you to be her full time provider as a wife. Would you jump in?
As far as me personally, the idea of being totally financially dependant on anyone, including a husband, is horrifying to me. Can you imagine, for yourself how you would feel in that situation?

Well he is financially totally dependent on his parents/the government. Seems to work for him.
