I wouldn't really blame Blaire for lying, tbh. Someone with some notoriety does better keeping family issues private. Say, if I was a celebrity and I was having troubles with my partner, I'd say "everything is fine!" until a divorce is inevitable. She said she was publishing with three or four months of delay to protect herself in case the pregnancy didn't go well due to certain health issues.

Many parents become estranged from their gay kids because they think that gay people can't have families. When these parents see that they can still have grandchildren they tend to warm up. Think of all the other unfortunate and unforseen ways the kids could find out their parent is a transparent, or situations where there is an actual need-to-know on the part of the kid. First of all, Blaire is a famous person. What if a stalker calls up and leaves a message in the answering machine: "Blaire, you disgusting trannie, I am going to etc.". Suppose the kids hear that message. "Mom, what is a trannie? Why was that man calling you that? Why was he saying those things?". Or suppose Blaire has an accident and the kid finds Blaire unconscious on the floor and has to call 911. What is the kid going to tell the paramedics? "This is my mom, but she's a man."? The emergency doctors need to know that. It might be a good idea for the kid to know this, if only for the sake of saving Blaire's life in case of a medical emergency. Or another scenario, what if the kid goes to school, and some other kid whose parents were SJWs know about Blaire, and the SJW kid starts bullying Blaire's kid: "Hey, your mom is a racist, your mom voted for MAGA, your mom is a guy, you have two dads, are you gay?" etc, etc. Or what if the kids see a transperson in the street or on the internet or in a movie or on the TV, ''mom, why does the guy look like a girl?" I don't get why Blaire assumes her kid wouldn't be able to handle knowing she's trans. When I was little my family moved around California and I grew up with a kid or two who's parents were trans.
