All those things (And more) had democrats frothing at mouth. And only a decade later they pretend they consider him a great statesman who always loved american people. I bet even W himself must find it funny.
Also Dubaya was absolutely detested by europeans, even in ameriboo central that is Poland, there were anti-Bush marches that were tens of thousands of people strong.
Brits hated him (and Blair) for roping them into his middle east misadventures, he was considered a war criminal, (IIRC even some spanish court wanted to prosecute him for that, despite having no actual iurisdiction), a pawn of military industry who starts wars left and right for oil and profits.
And then Obama, once the novelty of having a brown man in office wore off, and people relised he likes to shoot up brownish muslim people in middle east as much as W did, wasn't greatly liked either

edit: and lets not forget W's endless gaffes, like "Is our children learning", that made him look like he was retarded (some conspiracy theory nuts thought "they" might keep him drugged all the time, because he seemed to be pretty sharp back when he was a governor, and then seemed to have dropped 20IQ points when he became president)

Daily reminder that Barack "Yes We Can" Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay and cease extraordinary rendition. He did neither; he didn't even try. In fact his government expanded both.

Also, daily reminder that his Secretary of State was Hillary Clinton, the queen of chickenhawks herself.

Spend eight years calling Bush Hitler. Then the next eight years saying "Well he was the shittiest President ever but I guess he's not too horrible a person even if he should be executed for war crimes."

Now it's "Okay so apparently this new guy is ACTUALLY HITLER and we really need a good, decent, well-intentioned President like Bush again!"
