Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

So recently I have been watching a woman named "Agony Autie". She has autism, Ehlers Danlos, POTs, Endomitriosis. Currently in a wheelchair. It's especially her... stories and her facebook stories that give me a strange sensation of performativity if that makes sense. I feel bad critiquing her diagnosis but it just feels off to me. Recently she had this public meltdown when not allowed on a train because according to the train conductor, she was abusive in the past. This was also featured on metro:
I mean, reheating her croissant because otherwise she'll get a meltdown?

She films her meltdowns and her ptsd attacks and her disassociating attacks. I'll share some here. I'd like to hear how you feel about this. I am a little bit skeptical about her behavior especially because its shared so... publicly and excessively. She does frequent talks at autism conferences so i am a bit cautious in saying her entire persona is fake, i don't think that but something is off.

I’ll say it for you, this woman is totally full of shit.
How many super sick, autistic people style their hair, make up and clothes to film traumatic breakdowns on the train and post flattering selfies in good lighting with captions? Only munchies do that shit. Her list of illnesses is a munchie bingo card.

She must be a real crazy thundercunt for the conductor to have banned her in the past for abusive behavior.

But wait there's more! She put 5 ads in this vlog about jaquies funeral. Oh Lord she is truly psychotic

I had a quick look at agony auntie, looks like she likes to start drama too. Here's a few blog posts about her behaviour.

Edited to avoid a double post

holy sheez, thank you for this.

edit: also, the way she acts, you cannot be "THAT" autistic (she acts like a stereotype of an autistic person tbh) and only get diagnosed in adulthood?

also, she recently went on a crusade against Tony Attwood IN REAL LIFE accusing him of ableism and what not, whilst he is THE scientific licenced advocate for women on the spectrum. Tony agreed to be on her podcast to sort it out.

I know that some of the subjects will respond to their threads here or use sockpuppet accounts but do any of the chronic & invisible illness community who are fakers or cows themselves come here ? I was reading a thread where someone from the chronic illness Reddit left there but was commenting on another site about fakers then within a few posts was listing all her illnesses and drama thus getting called out . Do any of the people from the other sites come here only to start acting like a cow or get their own threads ?

Sorry if my post is answered elsewhere but ffs I have no sympathy for the people like this and they are rapidly multiplying . Watching people die from cancer several times has had a profound impact on me so my mind is scrambled trying to compute everything chronic illness fakers and mbi folk do .

Sorry do you mean when analeise was commenting on the reddit thread but used a throwaway that bashed others like chronic zebra. & I think ALF ??

But anyway there is less chance of blogging and white knighting on here so. The chances of a munch trying to use this a platform to defend themselves is a lot slimmer,. They would be jumped on in 30 seconds flat with autism ratings, although I have seen some examples. I guess that’s why they love /r/IF so much because it happens all the time.

“Whenever I have the camera on me, I feel stronger.”

Does this lady have no sense of ANYTHING?! She is a train wreck but I just keep watching.

Edit to add: ooh boy the girl Savannah could be the next munchie. Get it, girl. Get on that camera with Janiece, tongue out and all.

P.S. You’re a real piece of shit Jan for trying to get people to like and subscribe after your “friend” died, not to mention ads.

Vampire Kelly comes to mind here, I just went through her whole thread over the weekend, what a wild ride!

Yes . I remember this happening but couldn't remember exactly where it happened and I see Vampire Kelly( the bleeder ) on here and was figuring it happened more . I definitely see how it wouldn't fly here and that is why I like KF .

One of my favorite things on GoFraudMe is to read the chronic illness fakers that people share or call out on the Facebook page who have their campaigns hijacked by other illness fakers . The fights over who is the sickest and why they deserve donations more than other people are a shitfest of narcissism .

You would be surprised. Generally kids on the less severe end of the spectrum (verbal, can function), especially girls, won't be referred for any dx until they're either falling behind academically or impossible for their teacher to control. Recognition is improving but I think she's old enough to have missed that? This would have been at least 20 years ago, right?

That said, it remains a very easy diagnosis to fake or confuse with other conditions if you aren't entirely honest about things. ADHD is a common one because they can present very similarly - lack of eye contact, fidgeting or stimming, apparent lack of social skills, very all-or-nothing with interests. Once you're older, social anxiety is also difficult to distinguish without a solid record of childhood behaviour.

Edit to add: In theory, sensory issues might help to confirm an autism dx, but they aren't required, and again can be confused. A lot of people misinterpret disliking something as an 'issue'; I think Jaquie claimed even disliking the texture of... oranges (? please correct me if I'm wrong on that one) ... was part of her sensory processing disorder. Similarly, disliking loud noises is not the same as having a meltdown due to loud noises, but the lines get very blurry, especially online.

There's also a interesting trend for people to get (a legitimate) dx of mild ASD, latch onto it, and suddenly act more autistic. Perhaps partly feeling legitimised for the first time, or feeling they 'should' act a certain way now they have a label?

One of the more frustrating problems, especially for parents with severely autistic, non-verbal, children, is that the milder cases tend to do the advocating. (Naturally, because they're more socially competent than the rest of the ASD population). This can lead to a lot of them sweeping the more severe problems under the carpet, and presenting autism as just a 'fun' and 'quirky' personality difference.

Kelly comes to hemorrhage crazy all over her thread if we deign to discuss her latest antics and is the one who posted herself to /snow/ and got the internet's attention in the first place. She baits gossip boards into talking about her so she can cry victim to her audience of Canadian church ladies and randos from Kuwait. Tina/Anelise is another one who was believed to have posted herself to /snow/ for attention back in 2017, where she managed to get herself discussed in both the Pro-Ana Scumbags and munchies thread.

Ginge doesn't interact but has sent a "take that off the internet!" to null in the past.

Many of them delete improbably quickly after they are first brought up here, so i'm sure they lurk. Like SickbedPrincess who had an embarrassing internet history stretching back for years but deleted everything immediately after we found and published said history.

I have been patiently waiting for an IF refugee to go halal since Jaquie's death. Considering I went over there for five minutes, clearly identified myself as a doxer of munchies, and they still DM'd me their special sob stories, it's bound to happen. They have a pathological need for that attention.

You know I was going to give her somewhat of a pass for the filmed funeral since Jaq's church live streams everything and they might have arranged some kind of private stream so her distant/foreign relatives could see it. But she's straight up vlogging during it. Go fuck yourself, Jan.

Edit: but at least we have Jan's word that Jaquie was on some kind of life support.

ok sorry

Guys it's really not hard to share your personal experience and not make it personal.

don't: "I have gastroparesis and I know how terrible it is so I don't see how she can eat a burger and fries with it. There's no way. I would be in agonizing pain. I was diagnosed because there was 50% of the food left in my stomach after a 4 hour GES and she's claiming she needs a tube at 12%? God I WISH I only had 12%! She should try living my life for a while because it's way more tragic and awful than hers."

Do: "Someone with a borderline GES doesn't need a tube. Someone with GP bad enough to need a tube doesn't eat a burger and fries."

Yeah she is full of shit. If she said she was borderline personality, I'd believe her, because that's what this all screams. BPDs love to latch onto autism advocacy, I've found. Actual autistics are awkward and earnest easily cowed by a bunch of loud, flamboyant liars, and BPDs are good at being identity chameleons so they just move in and take over, claiming to speak for all Autiedom.

In a fun twist, BPD has become the hip happenin' label to slap on yourself if you want to act like a shithead and be told it's not your fault.

Ironically it might actually be the one accurate label they slap on themselves, though a lot of them have more features of other Cluster B disorders that muck up the picture. Antisocial for the thieving and/or violent ones, histrionic for the slutty ones, narcissistic for the overall asswipe ones. Pathological lying, factitious disorders, and EDs pair well with all of the above for the complete trainwreck loser buffet.

God bless clusters Bs for giving us all something unproductive to waste our time on.

Why not just advocate for BPD though like Susanna Kaysen did with Girl interrupted? As far as I know it's not too common, Girl Interrupted was the first I'd heard of it anyway. Is it just not as sexy as autism? (lol)

Edit: sorry I missed the two above posts.

Found this little gem from that dead-eyed girl's blog.
