Still it's not an ANON source(As in a mystery sender), it's a source Nick knows who is and was requested to remain anonymous. Nick Rekieta has not given us a reason to doubt his sources that he tends to make sure to double or even triple check. Like seriously. I get taking something with a grain of salt, but Nick knows who the contact is, and said he cropped out the personal info out of request of the sender wanting to remain anon. This is some pretty serious stuff mentioned in the email. And would explain why a lot of people in the industry being afraid going forward for both reputation and livelihood. When Nick boomers, he makes a point to admit it openly as soon as possible(As few as they may be.). He takes his info gathering pretty seriously.

While everything you wrote is factually true, it is also irrelevant.

The simple reason is that there is no verification beyond Nick's word, and there is no way for anyone to cross-check it, as there is no known origin.

And Nick, as a human being, is not infallible. the fact he has never lied is not proof that what he said this time is true. (raven paradox. the fact every raven you ever saw is black does not mean all ravens are black, and no matter how many black ravens you record it is no proof that ALL are.)


That said, I fully believe this is legit.
But we cannot use it. because we cannot prove it.

The burden of proof increases with the severity of the alleged offense. The con manager did not accuse anyone of sexual misconduct, so whether you believe them or not doesn't really matter.

As far as Nick "lying", how is him saying "Not Ty" as his source any different than Beth Elderkin inventing a "Charlotte", "Rachel", "Gretchen", "Diana", and "Dave" in her io9 article? Is she not in effect saying, "Not X" and "Not Y"? As with the texts, it's not hard to narrow down as to whom some of those people are with the information provided.

I would argue that Nick obfuscating the identity of his source was a sound legal strategy from Ty Beard as it got his opposition to authenticate them for the public. In Shame Holmberg's attempt to prove that Nick was "lying", he inadvertently revealed who Ron Toye was speaking to and that the texts were not cherry-picked at all.

As far as Nick speculating or being wrong about the timing of certain events, they are of little consequence. The merits of the case are of far greater importance than the day it was filed. As a matter of fact, the lawsuit was delayed several days to incorporate additional information.

It also helps that Bosch is, like Vic, overtly religious. This is why some people thought he might be on the shitlist as well. It might also help that him and Reuben have lent mocap and likeness to the works associated with them. They’re proper actors, and associated with their roles in a way that most of these brainlets can never hope to be.
