It isn't a question of if, it's a question of how quickly this relationship turns extremely unhealthy. God I wish I could hear how he's described all the plights of his life or at least got to read her notes.

Russ seems to be missing one thing. The shrink said the Taylor Swift thing caused him pain. She didn't say the pain was justified or that Russ was in the right. Therapy isn't going to work for Russ because he doesn't see himself as the cause of his problems. Sure it'll work at first because the therapist hasn't crossed the hurtful truth level yet. Once she disagrees with him on something he'll rage about how dumb she is and that she's a fake doctor. Also he better hope she doesn't find out that he's saying she's hot on social media. Exhibiting attraction is a good way to get dropped as a patient.

Lots of people need therapy, but not even everyone who seeks it out benefits from it. You have to want to change. How many extra appointments past the point his therapist turns against him, in his mind, will he make because she's hot and hope springs eternal?

How long til he sues her for misrepresentations when his life doesn't magically get better after three meditation sessions? And how quickly will he be trying to track down her personal contact details and social media accounts, while harassing her to go out for a meal with him (#NOTADATE) and claiming she hates disabled people when she says no?

I pity this therapist, being alone in a room with Russ for an hour each time. What a horrible (and possibly terrifying) experience for her. I hope she works in an office situation with other staff around, in case Russ decides to lose it when she doesn't encourage his delusions and refuses to suck him his penis.

Of course he judges her on her looks, though. Of course he does. What else are females for, amirite?

If he's actually seeing a therapist, he hasn't been seeing her long enough for her to actually diagnose him with anything. He's anxious and depressed? Sure. But he doesn't have either an anxiety disorder or clinical depression--he's just unhappy because his life has gone to shit, shows no sign of getting better, and he's made himself an internet laughingstock by his own words and actions (which he continually justifies, but does not learn from or change).

And Bipolar? He's the one who claimed that's what he was diagnosed with, in the wake of the "kill list" incident, and that he had been prescribed meds for it but was no longer taking them. And I'll say this: he's not Bipolar. No fucking way. He's got Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and Narcissists can have dramatic mood swings, but they're totally based on whether they're receiving or have been deprived of the specific kind of attention they crave (otherwise known as "narcissistic supply").

Russell goes into a deep funk and withdraws every time he fails to get what he wants, or experiences some kind of humiliating defeat. Then he comes roaring back, all cranked up on his latest stupid scheme, with grandiose dreams of how it's going to be the thing that finally gets him the attention and adulation he craves. His highs and lows are entirely situational, and have clear triggers--and that's classic NPD, not Bipolar.

Way back in this thread somewhere, I once said that the therapist who dx'ed him with Bipolar probably did so because NPD is a diagnosis of last resort, given that it's untreatable. Given how young he was, and how negatively an NPD diagnosis could affect his life, I'm sure Bipolar was the lesser of two evils, so that's what they went with. Of course, that assumes his therapist was any damned good at recognizing personality disorders; a lot of them just aren't.

Russ is a known liar. I don't believe that he is going for therapy. And the slim chance that he is going to therapy, he will only go a couple times cause he doesn't think there is anything wrong with him. The therapist will say something he doesn't want to hear and he will snap. He doesn't want to hear that he's living in a fantasy world.

I agree with you. Russhole lies constantly to try to prop up his delusional world view. This is the same guy who claimed another unnamed therapist for sure diagnosed him with "trauma lumps", and that still another unnamed therapist working at a crisis line diagnosed him with PTSD directly as a result of not having him his penis sucked by Taylor Swift. He makes up shit alleged mental health professionals have said about him all the time. So I think it's about 80/20 odds as to whether Russhole is actually going to a therapist.

On the outside chance that he is going to a therapist, I bet it's only because of an intervention/pressure on the part of his poor family. In that case, he'll go a few times, then spaz out and quit the second he gets told something he doesn't like--either about MUH PLIGHTS or how the therapist doesn't want to suck him his penis either. No way he'll be able to be alone in a room with a woman he thinks is hot and not try to make a pass at her. After all, he thinks all women have a price, and he/his parents/his insurance have already paid her for her time! Professional ethics won't let a therapist date a client? DISCRIMINASHUN! DISHUBILITY SHAMING!

I find it highly unlikely a therapist told Russell everything he wanted to hear. Sure, he probably heard everything he wanted to hear. I suspect she has told him "You seem confident and describe yourself as smart" or something in that vein, which of course means something entirely different to Ol' Rusty Bastard here.
