For some reason there’s a section of the Dragon Age fandom that tries to claim that this character is a pee-oh-cee. Yes, they think this ginger ass dude is not white, all because the lighting in the first game was terrible. This isn’t the only character they try to claim isn’t white, but it’s the one people seem to be most rabid about. It’s at the point where I often see art of him that is so blackwashed that I can’t even tell who it is at first.

They are/used to be synonyms. For current days, gender stands for gender identity while sex stands for biological anatomy.
However, lots of journalists or activists keep interchanging between two words while they keep distinction in new woke children sex education books.
This issue probably comes from the idea that you change can your sex info in your legal identity and medical documents. Because all of these documents, they use the word 'sex' instead of 'gender'.

Not exactly SJW art but still fits quite well in this thread. Found a blog that is entirely dedicated to ‘calling out’ fan artists for whitewashing characters from the Dragon Age video game series, and it’s so ridiculous that I couldn’t not share it. They’re also the ‘typical head up their ass, can do no wrong’ SJW and going through their blog caused me great pain and suffering.

I notice that when SJWs draw characters "black", they have 80% of the time, very smooth hair, if their character was Indian or Asian I would have understood, but often they "are" African or mixed race but their hair are still smooth.
Now I realize why: They just cannot draw black people hair of without it end up like an old mop.

Kinda reminds me how Tumblr insists McCree is "latinx" while ignoring the facts that he has the whitest name ever, is being played by the whitest guy ever, and that white people in real life are fully capable of tanning. Really shows how their understanding of ethnicity is literally skin deep.
