I should note that there is a longstanding conspiracy theory, that the Central Park Five WERE guilty after all and one of the five managed to befriend a lifer who he ultimately convinced to confess to the rapes to get the actual rapists freed. Because the guy who "admitted" doing it, was doing life and couldn't really get any additional time for helping his friend and his fellow rapists get out.

Maza is not shutting up, it’s quite cute until you realize this was a perfectly coordinated attack on Crowder. Gin up a fake harassment claim because someone made fun of you right at the start of “gay pride” month to get as much attention as possible.
It is true, Maza/Vox et all want to try and get as many youtube righties demonetized/banned as possible heading into 2020 to limit people dunking on the left and calling out their lies. Maza also has his own Wikipedia bio that is one big masturbatory wank fest complete with a bit saying he was once voted an "eligible bachelor". Dude is definitely an egomaniac and I would not put it past him making his own Wikipedia article to make him look more important than he actually is.
The irony is that if Crowder didn't have a lawyer on retainer AND already sicced said lawyer on Youtube already for a recent attempt to deplatform him, Maza's attack might have had more bite. That's not a compromise. Well, not a sane one. That's a Nazi-in-the-bunker "compromise" of "You forgive me those 22 million Soviet deaths and I'll forgive you for leaving those dirty T-34 tracks in my streets, and everyone wins!"
I know Nazis and such are hyperbole and Godwins' Law and all that, but still, tell me this isn't cooked up by the exact same mindset that lead Eichmann to try and negotiate with the World Jewish Congress to get himself off the hook by playing the exact same "You stop persecuting me and I'll stop persecuting you" card when the Red Army showed up on his doorstep, despite the fact he was still murdering as many as he could as long as his orders to do so had authority behind them.....
The raw disconnect with reality these people have is stunning..... though I guess people, when faced with the imminent fiery death of their sociopolitical ideology, and realizing everything they did in service of it was for naught will drive you to, miscalculate, the odds you can survive the collapse, to put it lightly.

Not just the UK, but also a lot of the ex-Eastern Bloc countries in the EU such as Poland, Hungary, and Croatia that are typically pro-US and anti-leftist due to their history of communist oppression still being well within living memory.
Heck, even traditionally "Western Bloc" EU countries with a strong sense of traditionalism and Catholic faith like Italy and Ireland would drop Merkel and the EU like a rock if they had a way out that wouldn't cripple their economies even further than the EU's draconian austerity measures already have.
Notably, Italy and Ireland both had a lot of woke shit imposed on them by the EU even though a lot of these policies went against popular support (the Irish had to fight tooth and nail in the courts to keep the EU from forcing them to change their abortion laws in the late 90's) and a lot of mainstream Italian politicians (both conservatives and centrists and now even the Social Democrats) are openly denouncing the EU and Merkel.
Heck, Silvio Berlusconi even called Angela Merkel an unfuckable lardass and openly denounced the EU as his tenure as Prime Minister went along, especially as the recession in Italy worsened.
Berlusconi may have been a horny kleptocrat, but he was right on the money with the EU and Merkel's Germany, and Silvio Berlusconi even subtly supported Putin as a counter-balance to both the EU and Islamic fundamentalism.
The UK left the EU and even if it turned out to be a total disaster for all parties involved, it still happened despite being considered impossible up until the day of the referendum (and probably was literally impossible before the 2008-2009 Global Recession that hit Europe like an atomic bomb) and naturally Angela Merkel and the woke corporatists who run the EU are scared shitless, especially now that Russia is rebuilding itself into a major regional player.
In many ways, Putin is the perfect boogeyman for the modern SJW Left for many reasons already outlined by others, because he is a threat to the globalist/woke capitalist EU and wannabe EU lefties and is also firmly opposed to Islamic militancy and Communism, despite his former position as a KGB Officer.
Vladimir Putin is a Russian nationalist first and foremost and he has openly denounced a lot of the mistakes of the old Soviet Union that led to its inevitable and very disastrous breakup in 1991 and as seen by the way he bitch-smacked Pussy Riot, he's clearly not a fan of spoiled Anarcho-Communist punks either.
