Unless they stopped doing ads, it was many years since I read a comic, but I don't see that happening.

Pirating comics is the easiest and best way to read them, they have fucked up their business to that point. The online stores (comixology?) where they can be bought and read use something like flash or silverlight where turning pages can sometimes take seconds for it to load/render and if the internet blips out, fuck you! Do these digital comics have ads? I don't actually know, maybe, and maybe I shouldn't put bad ideas out in the ether but why not put video ads in digital comics! People would love that.

Even the record industry looks competent and forward thinking compared to these people.

"Hey, Stan Lee, Rob Liefeld, and that guy who created Batman became millionaires based on their characters, but that's because they're men". Fuck, the only reason you have any name recognition is because of some internet slap fight half a decade ago. It's time for you to go the same way as 99% of "artists" go and fade into obscurity.

Let's face it, if it weren't for Gamergate, Quinn, Wu, and Sarkeesian to a lesser extent wouldn't have had the careers they've had or the relevance.

That's why they can't let it go, it's the only justification for people still giving a fuck about them and throwing money or supporting their projects. Without it they basically would have never had any level of relevancy or notoriety, because lets face it nothing that has ever been produced by the big 3 by themselves or their minions has been of any level of quality.

In Quinn's case if GG never happened, she'd probably have still tried to fuck her way to the top of the indy scene, but considering her abysmal work ethic in terms of actual output, it would have only been a matter of a few years before people realizing that her personality was toxic, and her having slept through every journo who was willing to dump a load in her, and advance her career. Would have been ousted from the Indy game scene, and optimistically found herself a low level position at a game company, or more realistically some corporate in an HR department.
