IF I really wanted to defend the story (which I don't) my argument would be the exact same argument I'd make to someone saying this is proof of Vic's depravity: It was THIRTY years ago. If any of the same people are still running the place I'd honestly be somewhat impressed. Clinton was only TWENTY years ago and I'll bet you people who were defending him voiciferously then would be more than willing to denounce him NOW.Her story would be pretty solid if the church that was contacted didn't explicitly say "we would never hire Vic" among other things
But the US of 30 years ago was a VASTLY different place from the US of today. At WORST her story as told is:
Vic in his 20s hit on a teenager, she said "no", he relented but was "hurt" by the rejection, everyone moved on with their lives. In the 60s, rampant drug use and unprotected sex was a-ok, now neither of those things is considered kosher. If you just watch 80s TV and movies you can see that male-female interactions were MUCH different then compared to what is "allowed" today. Hell, go watch "Wolf of Wall Street".
