Anyone else wanna else wanna sperg out and talk about the best Morrowind Mods. One that I've really, really enjoyed is BTB. It's one of the best in terms of balance and creating an immersive experience. It's a good time, and the readme is pretty fucking funny.

Also recently saw this (excuse the faggoty site) I didn't have any idea how much you could customize BTB, i mean holy shit. I'm gonna have to open this up and start a new game, it's been like a year. Anyone else have a highly autistically edited version of BTB they'd like to share? Just wanna bounce some ideas about what to try in my new game

But, the thing is GCD is also fucking excellent, but it's so hard for me to choose between them.

Which one do you guys prefer?

I'm also a big fan of the Encumbrance mod. I mean, I'm all for things being hard. But I'm just gonna Mark/Recall to my base and drop shit off anyway, might as well have it managable.

I guess I'm also a giant faggot, because I use the mana regen mod.

I kinda liked the "Camping" mod It was interesting, but it got a little cumbersome to deal with, but it was cool when I had time to REALLY sperg out and pretend to be an N'wah.

Anyone else use Alternate Chargen? What's your favorite. Also, is it possibly to make it compatably with BTB? I seem to remember having a lot of problems.

Any other big changes mod or any other great quality of life mods that aren't as known (reduced commentary is almost necessary for me at this point lol)?

Should I be linking to these mods I mentioned?

Also, what's your favorite mod set-up for Morrowind? I'm really looking for new ideas to try.

Sorry if this is autistic and rambly. I just wanna sperg out on this game again.

Probably stretching it a bit, but if you can get it to work Morroblivion is a fun romp, and takes care of the only real issue i ever had with Morrowind(straight up missing if you weren't good) though since it stays as faithful as possible to Morrowind you can take stuff back to Cyrodil and get rich incredibly quickly. B

I'm also a fan of the graphical overhaul mods, because as fun as the game is its looks have not aged as well as the game itself

If you want people to get excited and spergy about an old as fuck Bethesda game long before the darkness of 76, I would link and clean it up some.
  • Mod ex#1
  • Vice versa
With that said, I should see if they finally fixed their dumbass launcher to see if I still got the game for free or not.

Aw, come on, who cares if it's old. It's the best Bethesda game ever made.

Currently not able to edit my posts, so I'll link them here. I hope some of these aren't like different versions or something, because I downloaded all of these mods years ago and was just looking through my folder. So I'll just go through google and get as close as I can find. If anyone is really interested. I can upload my version somewhere and link there.

There was one site that had a really good compilation of mods, where I originally found BTB, but I can't seem to find it. It was written by some internet-bro so it was a lot more fun than nexusmods, but I'll take what I can get.

BTB Mod HUGE Overhaul of the whole game

GCD Huge Game overhaul

Alternate Character Generator

Camping Mod - I think this is the one I used before. It looks similar

Mana Regen Hell, i still used 1.3 didn't know they updated it.

I've been arguing with people for years over that one. I like that it uses a little bit of dice roll in it. It accounts for real life shit like people dodging or blocking (you can say that there is a blocking mechanic, but the npc in question would actually need a damn shield + like over 100 blocking for it to be as effective)

That's why, assuming you want to go spelunking right off, you actually have to make a character who focuses in combat, which makes it where you actually need to sacrifice making social or magic skills as your Major skills if you want to reliably use a sword to kill enemys with.

That was one of my main problems in oblivion (even excluding the shitty level-scaling mechanic), you could literally roll up and kill anything you wanted with a Bow and enough arrows at level on with 5 Archery skill, at level one (thought obviously in the process you'd level up quite a bit), because if you have basic motor skills you'll hit just about every shot and can just run backwards in a circle till it's dead.

So, I'm actually pretty sad Morroblivion took that out, I was vaguely interested in it until I heard that. That's okay, i kinda enjoy the shitty graphics. I've never been one for aesthetics.

Still can't edit, so having to make another post.

HUGE Shoutout to Morrowind FPS optimizer. Even though I don't have any problems running this old ass game: It gets rid of the giant wall of fog that limits your view distance, which makes them game look, so, so, so much better.

pick one and only one, bub.

A neural network high res texture mod (which is as large in size as the whole game+expansions) came out like a week before Bethesda was giving copies away for free. Also the code project patch which fixes a bunch of old bugs and can select little things like “higher alchemy skill makes heavier potions.” I use the similar patches on all bethesda games because there are whole broken quest lines it fixes. The graphics extender makes my rig chug a bit which is funny. Mods are linked here but I’m a very boring modder and don’t do anything crazy.

Ahh yes, I've be- Morrowind Code patcher was the best, so many little things you could do. Speaking of Alchemy though, one of the neat things about BTB is that it limits you from breaking the game, while making things to level your character legitimately easier. Things like not being able to make custom spells with certain spell effects, or nerfing alchemy so you don't become superhuman from it.

Morrowind is the only one that strikes a balance of having extensive content (almost twice as much as Oblivion - still love Oblivion though you could see the slow creep- and like 10x that of that shitstain Skyrim, aka baby's first RPG)

Your only choice left is Daggerfall, which has more content and is very interesting (really loved the climbing skill that was cool), but it suffers a bit too much from being old. While I obviously don't care too much about graphics daggerfall wasn't even visually interesting and had a whole lot left to the imagination. Meanwhile, Morrowind's environments are wild as the Taliban. Shit was so cool, and it really pisses me off that they went to the super generic fantasy route afterwards. Nah, fuck Cyrodill being a jungle, we need Castles and Forest. Yup, Castles. And. Forests. little bit of snow.

"What should we do next time boss?"
"ALL SNOW + Dragons"

(I still think it's funny Skyrim came out not too long after Game of Thrones. I guess they knew the general public was gonna be craving a snow-treading Dragon simulator real soon.)

Shivering Isles, of course, was a bit of a different story and the best part of the game.

I also like the Daggerfall and Morrowind both just drop you in with little direction. Of course, those of us who managed to make it past a 5th grade reading comprehension level managed to figure it out. The follow the giant red arrow shit got old quick

So now that I've sperged out on you. What is your candidate for the best?
