Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

why I truly detest any postmodernist. they're dumb. they are objectively dumb. not just because their beliefs are dumb but because they feel in inherent, entitled need that their opinion is better than everyones and everyone needs to hear it.

usually i'll just go elsewhere when one show ups but if the world these fuckers want was real... i still wouldn't throat punch them but i'd still toss an accusation their way before walking off. fuck post modernists.
Post-modernism was a mistake. Stuckism and remodernism should've flourished instead.

The biggest gripe I have with this whole situation is not if Vic is guilty or not, that is not of our competence to judge. Were are nothing but speds arguing and laughing about internet drama in our free time.

The real problem with this shitstorm is that the social activist are trying to deplatform lawyers, to ilegitimize any type of defense that Vic may have, and are trying to stop the lawsuit by getting politicians involved and trying to out and shame the TX Senator.

This is fucking undemocratic as fuck, trying everything to deny something that was conquered through years of strife during absolutist tribunals and inquisitional procedures, just so some blue haired people on the internet can feel the POWER they get when they ruin someones life by just typing 180 characters. This type of attitude is a danger to the institutions of any free country.

Hell you know what this ordeal goes against? Basic fucking humans rights.

In my opinion, the LAST thing KickVic should want to do is escalate this outside the weaboo-niche community. I've found the idea that Toei would take DB away from FUNimation to be laughable, but if this becomes a national headline THEN it could maybe happen. Even if someone at Toei likes Vic, there wouldn't really be grounds to break the current licensing deal (presumably) and companies aren't gonna risk millions for those kind of issues. HOWEVER, it wasn't all that long ago that anime was just "porn cartoons & Pokemon" and if FUNimation is in the national news over sex scandals it'd be REAL easy to get non-weaboos thinking like that again. (slap a few Goblin Slayer clips up and you're off to the races) Once that's done, you have a president that isn't afraid to slap tariffs down who might be looking for more leverage over Japan and an EASY target that has a "comparatively" small voting base in the run up to an election year, and bam, FUNimation becomes persona non-grata.

It has retweeted Renfamous' post... I'm starting to doubt it being a joke more... Though now it is starting to click, what if Renfamous is related to this... that I could see her try to do shit like this...

I don't think so. Ren, believe it or not, doesn't particularly like to look stupid. She looks stupid a lot, but that's not because she was trying, it's just because she's an awful human being, and also because being on Twitter kills braincells. Also, when she decides to do Gay Ops, they tend to be exceedingly malicious and cruel.

This mod is stupid as fuck, but it's not actually hurting anybody. Any normal person who doesn't know the situation, if they're just browsing's for Vic's name or something and this pops up? They are not going to be convinced that Vic is a monster. They're gonna think that some autistic fuck has decided that Vic is their arch enemy, think that's sad and that they get over that soon, and move on.

As PULL might say, that "game" is Not A Good Look. In fact, I wouldn't at all be surprised if you don't start seeing some people on KickVic come out and disavow, and say that it's gay ops by some sped on ISWV. And then there will be an incredible sad display of shit throwing on both sides, I imagine.
Edit to not double post:

This is the same kind of logic that has people thinking that they have Literally Hitler for the president, and they want to give him the right to take away the 2nd Amendment and their best chance at protecting themselves from the Gestapo.

"The country is full of Nazi White Supremacists that Hate Women! Let's get the whole country to look at what's happening here, that will help our cause!"

Most of them are just idiots, but I think Armzgurl might have delusions of grandeur, and sees herself as the next Zoe Quinn. She'll never be put up in front of the UN to complain about being bullied online, but maybe she could get some time on her local TV stations, with her local gov't.

Well theoretically Toei 'likely' wrote into the licensing contracts typical morality and damaging property 'exits'. I do NOT know if this is the case with these contracts as IANAL AND I have not seen them, but strongly suspect that if they wanted out they can claim funimation is damaging the product.

Do I think this likely? Probably not
Do I think this a possibility? I'd be surprised if it were not.

So the blue orca and marzgurl thinks attacking a sitting senator for his lawfirm for seeking justice for the very type of twitter bullshit they are now trying to do him and his partner is a good tactic? A lawfirm that has reputation for being agrressive. Man im glad i only sap braincells on binge drinking and not twitter becuase the latter makes you really retarded.

So much for fucking settling. Similar to Marchi's response as well but nowhere near as bad as Casey's.

Edit: Jumped the gun. Missed the other lawyers.

I'm not an English teacher or anything, but I'm reading this and immediately I notice a weird ass typo inserting a random comma. Did they not proof read their response?

This is the company that allowed 4Kids to gut One Piece and make it a laughing stock in Japan. They didn't even step in, 4Kids dropped the license after getting bored of all the outrage. Toei also allowed 4Kids to gut some other shows too which are very popular in Japan. If you think some weeb outrage will cause Toei to pull licenses from Funimation than you're mistaken. They care about making money so the only way it's likely to happen is if Funimation doesn't use the license for a certain amount of time which won't happen.

Yes Toei care about their own image but that's only in Japan where it matters so just distancing themselves from drama is enough if they have to. This idea they pulled an appearance from a Japanese VA because of all this stuff is probably not true and only coincidental and was probably their own decision because of obligations. People tend to look to connect dots that don't exist when they want to believe something and it happens on both sides constantly.

Since I'm sure someone from "Pride Power Entertainment" is reading this thread I hope they take some suggestions from here to be even more creative and improve their stellar content. Personally, I hope Ron and Shane are playable characters.

Yeah, but a SJW would think the "den of the enemy" would be nothing but pictures of Hitler, Trump, and the KKK/other Nazis and maybe some "fuck feminism"/"incel pride" stuff because they think ISWV are alt-right incel misogynist neckbeards. Nick (I hope he powers up by taking a shot of whiskey to turn into Blackface Lawyer) and Ty would still be in there to remind everyone this is an anti-ISWV game.
This just makes it sound like the hero broke into the "villains" house.

It's the same as in Marchi's response as well, but at least it was worded differently. Almost made me wonder if they asked for a copy of their homework and changed a few things around.

So much for fucking settling.

EDIT: Holy shit, they're actually using their copyright lawyer.
Don't see why they'd settle tbh. If Funi would settle that means the other defendants could get away without paying anything or a small faction as settling would cover the TI. I can honestly see Funi wanting them to pay the majority of it, or the fact that most of the decisions (from what we know, kind of confusing tbh) is from Sony, thus they probably feel like they have a chance of winning.
