He will, see his name highlighted if he's @'d in twitch chat, or it will appear that way at least, whether he sees it or not is one thing. He does have a tendency to focus in on criticism and either ban the people himself and sometimes even go off on a rant about it. Sometimes he focuses in on weird shit though. It's a crap shoot as to what he says or does most of the time, even if he's given money it seems. Sometimes he's like oh, I'm not reading this it's stupid, or sometimes he's like Oh OK you think I should do X you fuckin nudnik. *bleats*I'll admit I don't use Twitch but can't you just @ them in chat and he'll see it similar to a cheer/tip?
fuck it, lets dissect this.
First off, lets post a video of GoldGlove to get an idea of what RTTS LP/streams should look like.

MLB The Show 19 - Road to the Show - Part 91 "Charge It Marv!" (Gameplay & Commentary)

The video was selected at random. Since GoldGlove is competent, I won't provide much commentary but the man knows baseball/how to present RTTS. He's playing on the hardest settings, default sliders. Obviously he's good at the game so it would be unfair to compare skill levels, but he does challenge himself. Notice how his 'reactionary commentary' is about whats actually going on like how any sports fan would watch 'real' sports. Marv is presented like an actual baseball player/character for viewers to root for. Even with a .477 and a hundred+ HR, Marvin is in AA ball, the lowest tier and GG never complains, its about the journey.
Now that we've seen what competency looks like. We can look at Phil with a baseline.

MLB The Show 19: Road to the Show gameplay pt27 - Batting For the Rangers then...TRADED AGAIN!?!?
Please consider leaving me a tip!: https://streamlabs.com/darksydephil Check out my Teespring store here!: http://www.teespring.com/stores/dspgaming http://w...youtu.be
First off, hour and 18 minute part, what a weird cutoff. No thumbnail. No commentary. Never refers to the character like he's a person. Never references stats. Mostly just zones out. Never seems engaged. Basically inferior in every way, not surprising given Phil.
Here's the thing non-mlb gamers won't realize. This cocksucker is playing on a difficulty that can generously be described as baby mode. This is NOT Easy. It is a lower difficulty that exists below 'dynamic' which scales. There are 5 'real' difficulty settings. This is BELOW those, you need to manually access it by going BACK from Novice past Dynamic to Beginner. Beginner is what's Phil on, it limits the pitcher to throwing strikes only, first pitch only (no changeups), at consistent speeds, largely in the bottom corner of the plate so you can crush it.
Now, thats bitch mode. But Phil doesn't stop there. Oh no, that's too hard for piglet. So what he has also done is turn off the PCI batting style (what you can see GG and every other streamer use) which requires you to 'aim' the bat as well as swing on time. All Phil has to do is swing, the game aims for him, so he always makes good contact.
Basically, Phil has made the game as easy as possible yet still manages to be incompetent.
Edit: Unless this dumbass is Pinch Hitting in parts he hasn't uploaded yet (last upload five hours ago) he's.... pinch hit like twice? And he's "fighting the oakland As" which is maybe the most autistic non-sports phrase he's managed to cram into this shitshow.
Also its so weird that I dont even know how to feel about him watching the ticker. Who does that. Hit "skip to next appearance" you mong.

His character looks like he has down syndrome, holy shit.![]()
It does happen from time to time where a position player ends up pitching because they've blown through the pitchers they have ready or people getting injured. It usually doesn't end well. For the game to have done that though you would think he'd have to have the highest pitching stats of non pitchers on his team.Well, there's a new part that went up after his e3 footage, because this nerd doesn't understand upload Qs.
He is pinch hitting indeed. And raging at it. Because he doesn't understand what pinch hitting is, or that the reason he's being relieved after hitting is because a new pitcher needs to pitch.
Ahahaha, okay I finished the segment and the game for whatever reason forgot to substitute Phil back out after pinch hitting and he ended up on the mound.
WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE FUCK. WHY AM I PITCHING?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT.

I'm honestly really torn about this. One one hand, good shit 7foxes for calling him out on his BS, but did you really need to give that fat fuck $5.00 to do that? Maybe he did it so that Phil would read it, but I'm willing to bet he's just gonna call it a troll message and ban him for it while still pocketing those 5 bucks.
Sure, but it swapped him out after 1 pitch so I assume the game just kinda oopsied that one.
Edit: ALSO, he's not a designated hitter like his tweet says. He's pinch hitting, that's an entirely different thing.
I would have to go back and watch to be sure (and that's not happening), but I think Phil button-mashed his way into skipping it by accident. He wigged out when the pitching tutorial came up and just started pressing buttons and overreacting instead of reading literally anything on the screen. "WHA HAPPENING? WHA HAPPENING? WHAT IS THIS?" etc.
Fucking lol at his excuse "I do inteligent and quality content, unlike every other popular streamers who is a clown with dyed hair,if I change I will lose my identity"you can hear the moment phil realizes a legitimate criticism might be valid and goes full defensive mode and fires off his usual insults

Like why stick with games that you clearly don't want to play? Especially given that you don't even really get any change in money for playing it?
A mostly-linear nearly 30-year old JRPG that cribs most of its plot cues from something immensely popular. Why am I not surprised that Phil loves it*?At this point, what does DSP want to play? When is the last time DSP has seemed genuinely happy playing a game?
Ironically, I think it was when he played Final Fantasy IV. I can't think of too many games he hasn't raged at in the last two years.
That was only because he played on Normal, which is similar to the GBA version which is ridiculously easy. Even easier than the dumbed down Americanized FFII version. And, of course, Phil lied the entire time saying that Normal was the same as the DS version.Ironically, I think it was when he played Final Fantasy IV. I must defend the FFIV PSP version. It's the best remake done in the series, by far.A mostly-linear nearly 30-year old JRPG that cribs most of its plot cues from something immensely popular. Why am I not surprised that Phil loves it*?
*no distaste for FF4 at all, the After Years cash grab notwithstanding. It still holds up, but it's a giant on whose shoulders many, better games have stood.
I'd argue 1 and 2 had a lot of good remakes, but there is no doubting the PSP version of IV was great. Shame Square Enix decided to go the reboot route with FFVII, I mean it looks pretty but it also looks like a totally different game. That was only because he played on Normal, which is similar to the GBA version which is ridiculously easy.
