Ya know after seeing all the hideous art here I've noticed a lot of them can't draw men as actual men & not some gay looking boy toy Jefferee star wannabe they do realise that traditional masculine gay men exist right? the men they draw look like they just copypasted a feminine face on a semi male looking body hell they can't even draw trans men right always making them look like disgusting ugly abominations

the only time they actually draw masculine men is when they’re doing fanart of dudes like tony stark or spider man from MCU. they just draw them how they look and say they’re trans by slapping top surgery scars

On the topic of Mulan, there was a controversy a few years ago because Disney made Mulan's skin tone "whiter". They said it was "whitewashing".

Here's a "racebent" Mulan made a while back I think. The irony being that Native Americans originally came from East Asia and in DNA tests Native and East Asian ancestry tends to be lumped together.. so technically speaking it's not really changing "race", just ethnic background.

I'm not really sure what constitutes changing a characters "race". Like Ariel's "race" would technically be "Mermaid" or whatever.

Like in this article below they made Megara "Ancient Egyptian" but judging by the DNA tests done on mummies and America's definition of being "white" then Ancient Egyptians are "white" by our modern standards (take that Afro-centrists!).

And they made Pocahontas Polynesian (even though both Native Americans and Polynesians originally migrated out of East and Southeast Asia respectively).

Something that these people don't understand is Chinese standards. Pale skin is considered very highly in Chinese culture as a status symbol and a sign of beauty. It's not even a "imperialist Westeners imposing their beauty standards" thing, it's been a thing for literally millenia. It makes sense for Mulan to be pale because a lot of Chinese women try pretty hard not to get tan.

Of course, to them POCs have to look more different from white people or else they don't count and have internalized racism.
