Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

My take on Vic comes from observation of his actions over a long period of time - things he's not even likely to know I noticed, good and bad. At the center of it is a good heart. For example - years ago, he started sharing some of his fan emails with me. They would detail stories of self-harm and all sorts of horrific abuse. He would take the time to answer each one personally with genuine care and encouragement. Months or even years later, he might hear back from them how his simple act of care literally saved their lives. He did these things privately. Not on stage, no microphone, no clout. He did it because it's who he is.

This is the most wholesome post in this entire board.

Any insights I may have would be pure speculation, which I would rather avoid
Your speculations, being inside the voice-acting business and knowing many voice actors and their general mindset and working environments and attitudes would be more valuable than you can probably imagine - but I can also respect your decision not to speculate in general, even if the #KickVic supporters have done much worse than that (hence the lawsuit and trial).

If you do ever change your mind though, know that any insights you may have will be welcome here and appreciated.

I would have zero idea how to contact a mod or what verification is or any of that
Don't worry about it, if it's important someone will contact you and walk you through it, it's a pretty common procedure around here! :)

Honestly, i'd rather you not talk anything about the people opposing Vic because then these idiots will come even more fiercely at you, along with you know the usual sjw tactic of going after a person's job.

While its good that you are replying on kf, i'd def like to remind that these people are not normal. They are Lunatics. So please do be cautious.
Oh, I'm aware, thank you! I have kept ridiculously up-to-speed on everything from day 1.

That's the thing that kills me. Every woman that's come out with an actual accusation directly against Vic, it's all the fucking same. He came onto me, I eventually said no, and he stopped, of his own free will, nobody had to come in and pry him away. It's nuts.
I totally agree that it seems that all the accusations amount to "he expressed attraction to me, I declined" I was just pointing out that at LEAST with Rial and Marchi he directly interacted with them. Armzgurl has expressly stated that he did NOTHING to/with/at her (full understandable) and yet she thinks her opinion is both required and desired.

I'm not inside the voice acting business, I am a producer (indy film) and a beauty/SFX makeup artist. The VAs I know are as a result of friends of friends, social events, etc. I really don't have any insight into the inner workings at the VO studios.

No, there's probably jurisdiction in Texas, especially if there's civil conspiracy. They could go sue her in California, too, though. It's not like it's much further than parts of Texas are away from each other. Or they could sue her in federal court. If they only sued her and other non-Texas defendants, it could probably be removed to federal court, but if they sued any Texas defendants alongside her, there would not be complete diversity and diversity jurisdiction wouldn't apply.

They could also, depending on the progress of the case, amend the current Texas case to add defendants.
IIRC, I think one of BHBH team is licensed in Calif. It seems I recall Rackets talking about it, perhaps on the interview he did with 2 of the Amazons.

Re: the Travis thing. I just did some browsing and found out apparently the lore is that the Resembool Rangers and Miniskirt Army were rivals/opponents against one another and were at 'war'. There's even a video of Vic 'calling out' the Miniskirt Army

TRIGGER WARNING: Vic hugs a fan in the video, turn away if you abhor human contact

No idea if Travis has publicly said anything about Vic or this drama, but I hope he didn't because this stuff seemed pretty fun to banter back and forth between them. Plus I'm sure all these videos I've been seeing could be used against him so he'd just be next if he encourages this kind of unpersoning culture.

If their scare tactics work to get people into shutting their mouths, then they have won and I will never agree to that. While I agree that people should be careful, @Svetlana has already put herself out there and whether she says more or less will have no effect on how hard they come at her at this point. They will fling their shit regardless because that's what shit-flinging monkeys do.

Since people will come at you as long as you have a name and position yourself against them, she (or anyone else) might as well make an effort to be as loud as possible and not hold back. When even eating a jellybean will get you to lose your career on Twitter court, you might as well decide to go around raping people because hey you're already going to pay for it anyway, why not do it if you can? (obvious joke and common sense applies, but hopefully the sentiment and logic gets through).

But I wish people wouldn't joke about dead parents and pets. Parents, pets and friends' deaths shoud be off-limits, I think. Anything else is just 'no bad tactics, just bad targets' by another name.
I highly disagree. If someone is causing that much trouble to themselves and everyone else, actively trying to destroy someone's life and to fuck up what people care about, not only should you make fun of their dead mom and cat, but also tell them that they should kill themselves.

Also, it's entertaining.

You will never agree to that because you are not on the receiving end that is that. While i also don't like people shutting their mouths which is exactly what these sjws want. It's just that the info she will end up providing(which is already a speculation) will already be coming out in some sense in the discovery etc.
I don't see a point of her opening and making herself a bigger target for these sjws specially based on a mere speculation.

It's one thing to poke hornet's nest but its another to drop the nest from the tree.

Just wait a bit more, discovery will end up revealing most of the answers.

I'll happily answer. I have spent a good deal of time with Ty (dinners, phone conversations - I was the one who took the pic of him and Vic on the Star Trek bridge he Tweeted, etc). I find him to be an incredibly brilliant tactician. He's a war history buff with what I believe to be an eidetic memory for detail regarding strategy, etc. From the first time I met him back in February, I was impressed by his dedication and his true care for his clients beyond the job. I have every confidence in him and his team
Ty dubbed me an "honorary Amazon" a few months ago as a gesture of affection/humor. I dig it. The Amazons are cool :)
I'm pretty much honored to see and meet one of Ty Beard's Amazons on the Farms. I'm also very impressed with his dedication and care for his clients. He has put a lot of work and effort on being Vic's lawyer. Anyways, welcome to the Farms!

Travis seems like an amusing guy if only based on Critical Role. That said, I recently saw a video (from over 10 years ago) of him shooting down a fangirl's attempt to get him to basically voice her fanfic boylove canon . With that in mind, I'm happy for him, but surprised the lynch mob didn't come after him sooner.

I'm reminded of a quote that was part of a reply to Supergirl's tweet of my Quora answer: "In the face of evil, we remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." (Source? Anyone?)

Rest assured that I will not be providing any info that isn't already public re: the case. I can, however, speak to the character of the man much better than most and am happy to do so

I agree. Far as I'm concerned, a few dead mom or cat jokes is getting off easy considering MarzGurl has made it her life's mission to destroy Vic and ruin his life in any way she can. Spending all day on Twitter in an effort to cost him his job and ensure no company works with him ever again, his conventions and brigading them to never invite him to one again, and as even Nick said, his livelihood which is more or less saying these people wanted Vic dead. We saw how remorseful these types people were when TotalBiscuit died. "Yeah, he died, but he was a goobergating supporting shithead who antagonisted people, so fuck him" which is paraphrasing what Zac from ANN said when he died

These people dehumanize their enemies to the point a man can die of cancer, leaving his wife behind, and they smugly gloat on Twitter about it all because he said "hey, maybe game journalists and publishers shouldn't be shitheads to their readers and customers, just a thought" Do you think they'd care if Vic killed himself, or became broke and lives on the street? They'd relish at the thought

These people deserve far worse than dead mom jokes. Especially since the person in question tried to backpedla and say "I never started a movement' but the minute Cuck Lightyear weighs in, she jumps back in and doubles down trying to egg everyone on again now that she thinks shes in the clear and has a lawyer's approval that she can't be touched. A settlement judgement of hundreds of thousands of dollars and garnished wages for the rest of their minimum wage life seems appropriate.

Sorry for the rant. I'll take my Mad at the Internets now.

Nick: Uses the GFM to help out Vic get a lawyer and the rest of the money goes to Salvation Army for Domestic Violence and Abuse Shelters. Gets absolutely nothing from this. Not even money. Politely asks some people if they want to come to his streams and debate about the situation. Talks different subjects other than Vic. Actually knows whats going on. Gets called a grifter

Greg: Doesn't know whats going on. Gets fed misinformation. Acts like a complete douche towards Nick. Spends everyday on the hour commenting on everything thats Vic related like he has no life. Tries to say that Ty is lying about people faking being him. Give's legal advise to a woman who was already caught lying about being raped when it was confirmed consensual. Gets called a real and competent lawyer.

Do ya'll see anything wrong here?
Well lots wrong, but nothing abnormal for the internet sperg brigade, this is just normal operating procedure. We need to get RIGHT on to enshrining these fact-less arbiters of SJW truth power over us all.

Excuse me while I go minecraft myself.
