TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

Lindsay was briefly interviewed for this Contrapoints blowfile https://www.latimes.com/entertainme...trapoints-cultural-divide-20190612-story.html
la Times said:
Wynn’s ideas are layered in empathy, says Lindsay Ellis, a media and film critic with 645,000 YouTube subscribers. She met Wynn after donating to ContraPoints’ Patreon crowdfunding page. She was impressed that Wynn realized that shaming people might feel righteous but doesn’t change minds, especially if you’re trying to alter the thinking of right-wing and other extremists groups.

“Natalie speaks their language,” Ellis says. “That’s something a lot of leftists can’t do. They can’t reach these borderline edgelord communities because they don’t speak the language of memes or why these people tend to fall down reactionary alt-right rabbit holes. [She] has found a way to get them to reconsider their positions and in this increasingly polarized discourse is becoming like the unicorn of skills. It’s extremely rare.”
"right-wing and other extremist groups"

Just being right-wing means that you're part of an extremist group now I guess.

" [She] has found a way to get them to reconsider their positions"

Is there any evidence that literally anyone who wasn't already a leftist watches this deranged tranny? Linking a right-wing person to one of this freakshow's videos isn't going to convince them of anything other than that they're right to be suspicious of leftists.
I love that she doesn't realize that "leftist" means someone on the extreme left. And it's telling that she (and other leftists) think opinions and beliefs are reached through indoctrination. They need to alter the thinking of right-wing and other extremists groups. And obviously these people are right-wing and extremists is because they saw the wrong memes and fell down alt-right rabbit holes.

"The unicorn of skills. It's extremely rare". Either she doesn't know what a unicorn is, or she doesn't know what "rare" means. Regardless, talking to someone you disagree with isn't a rare skill. As a matter of fact, it's pretty fucking common. Like literally all the way up to just a few years ago, people were doing it. You know who created this environment where you can't talk to people? I'll give you a hint: They start with the letter "L", use violence to shut down speeches, pressure tech companies to censor or out right ban people, and think shaming feels righteous.

The only way leftists can convince or get people to reconsider their positions is the same way the mafia convinces and get people to reconsider their position. They sure are shit can get people to do that through discussion or reason, because every time they open their mouth, they sound like an insane person that people constantly want to distance themselves from.

As a general rule, if you think people opposite your platform are automatically evil extremists, you need to reevaluate your point of view. Or at the very least take the time out to understand that even your political opponents are human beings with feelings, not robots who exist to make your life miserable.

The only people that are objectively evil in today's political society are Neo-nazis, white supremacists, ISIS, and other actively violent groups in that vein. And even then, the argument could be made that those people are actually just extremely misanthropic and profoundly fucked in the head, and not necessarily evil. There are actually studies out there that have found correlations between head trauma and religious/political extremism. Internet cultures exacerbate the problem, because it causes people to gravitate towards cult-like echo-chambers.

Being in an echo chamber with no legitimate counter-arguments helps too.

If everyone you talk to supports your beliefs 100% you're only going to be more convinced your side is right and everyone else is objectively evil and not even really human.

Eliza's politics are a little cringe-y, but I still tolerate her. I think it's because she's not as whiny as Nella or as try-hard pseudo-intellectual as Lindsey.

She knows that what she likes is goofy and campy and acknowledges it. I'll take that over Lindsey's need to turn everything into a deep sociopolitical diatribe any day. Yeah, she brings up the LGBT stuff sometimes, but I don't find it obtrusive, since vampires are historically pretty gay. I don't say that as an insult, by the way- I'm being literal. Same-gender romance is really common in vampire fiction.

I also just have a soft-spot for vampires. If Eliza's channel wasn't vampire themed, I probably wouldn't be watching her videos.

Oh I can understand and I've seen a few of Eliza's videos. They aren't that bad I must admit and I do like vampires as well so I think it's cool that she puts so much effort into her videos and you can see she really enjoys them. I agree though that if she wasn't a vampire themed channel, I wouldn't have watched her videos neither and out of the three, she definitely seems the most chill.

How so? I thought they went along like box wine and lonely aunts.
Nope. Not anymore. No one knows for sure what happened, but apparently Lindsay had a meltdown in public at a cafe with her, and that severed their friendship. It's all murky, but the only thing we know for sure is that they aren't friends anymore because Lindsay said so on a podcast once.

She is one meme behind to become alt-alt-alt-lite or as they are also called "slightly less leftie-leftie".

I’m sure Mara said something unforgivable like “I don’t think all Trump voters are monsters” and “I’m fine with LGBTQ people but I don’t think censoring detractors is a way to help them” or some completely insane like that! Ugh the nerve of that Matilda bitch!

And as we all know, Lindsey is a paragon of virtue, morality, intelligence, and angelic behavior and is completely reasonable all the time. No way she could be in the wrong. Nope nope nope.

Lindsay admits that she gets joy out of silencing people versus just ignoring them.

She and several of her cronies got fooled by a Boogie parody account.

Lindsay tweets about vacation time injustice her husband suffered from his place of work while they're on their belated honeymoon in Asia.

And finally...Lindsay smacks straight men in the face with her rainbow flag.

So, what is Lindsay bringing to her marriage with that Lin guy, given that he's pressed to work for over a year to be able to go on a vacation?

I guess some almost not saggy tits-and-ass and her splendid personality... and a few thousand thirsty youtube whiteknights who also finance her on Patreon a little.

Lindsey actually puts effort and research to most of her shit, certainly more than anyone else from the dumpster fire that was TGWTG.

I mean I don't expect the NEET's who have sufficient time and interest to comb through years of tweets and activity to ever be truly satisfied, but that's why they're NEETs and can't grip the side-orbiting levels of irony in dedicating real time to bitching about lolcows.

Whats up, goon?

There really does seem to be an effort by the media to push the Contra the Jesus figure meme. In November 2020 when Trump is re-elected it will all have been for nothing.

30% of her stuff is decently researched stuff thats informative enough for a highschool video showing. 70% of her stuff is something she could've worded in 2 tweets but decided to make a video about and pad it out with repeating herself and political sperging because she needs to be visible and bring in dosh, lots of her blogging has her theorizing on how to build her brand and work the system. Same with the Twitter. It's not about talking to people, it's about advertising, increasing followers and tweeting hot takes. I'm sure if Weinstein switched over to Producing youtube stars she'd hop on it pretty damn quick for a career boost.
