Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

Trump is going to annihilate Biden (assuming he's going to be their ordained one). Still bringing up Charlottesville and the "very fine people" line years after the fact.

The man has zero enthusiasm when he speaks.
Oh he has plenty of enthusiasm for certain other things though...

Regarding Biden vowing to cure cancer; it reeks of a famous Bill Clinton pandering ploy that Bill engaged in to sew up the gay vote in 1992; he famously vowed, if elected, to order the creation of a second Manhattan Project (basically drafting all major scientists in the US to a government project) with the mandate to cure AIDS, on the government dime the same way Roosevelt spent tax payer money to build the atomic bomb. It helped (along with another pie in the sky promise, ending the ban on gays in the military) that basically helped get Clinton elected, though Clinton pretty much pretended to never say such a thing (IE Manhattan Project 2: The Cure For AIDS) once he got sworn in.

So we should proceed with caution over Biden's boasting, since it reeks like something Biden's PR people thought up, to try and win back middle American voters after realizing how badly Biden salted the earth with his earlier white male bashing remarks.

As per thier own website, each "poll" is generated by a random survey of 1,000 people - not a great sample size but they're trying. However, the big sticker is that the people are interviewed at and selected from near two of the college campuses.

The Mount Caramel Campus and the York HIll Campus - both located in Hamden, CT

Hamden, CT is a "blue area" - HIllary Clinton beat Donald Trump there 69 to 28 in 2016. Democratic candidates receive four times as many votes as Republicans in most elections from 2016 to 2018.

Conneticut is also a blue state. Every government position (All Senators, all Congress people, Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, etc) all the way down to the state assembly, of which there are 3 republicans in 20 seats there.

Sure seems like that isn't much of a "National" poll and probably why their numbers are so fucked.

This is the poll release: https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2627 (relevant PDFs also attached)

They called random US phone numbers to conduct this poll.

Or you could not be assiduously dedicated to being a prick and just say they were relocated to a military base, because that's what Fort Sill fucking is.

It certainly generates the desired effect. Look at the spazzing on /r/politics on the commondreams.org (LOL) article. Surprisingly, the /r/news top replies on the Time article were mostly sane.

Good lord some of the comments on that r/politics thread.

You'll notice that they never place the blame on the correct people. If these assholes weren't breaking the law and dragging their kids across the border then none of this would be happening. They seriously can't comprehend personal responsibility and it's perplexing.

Promising a cure for cancer is something that I'd lambaste people for believing far before I'd accuse the idiot politician promising it of any malfeasance. It's just so impossibly impossible that whatever the motives for saying it from a mistake in communications, or off-the-cuff gaffe to sincere desperation, the fact anyone would believe it as a feasible platform is far more troubling.

For that matter, why isn't the press on this? A crazy promise like that from a major candidate should be fodder for editorials and think-pieces alike. Every late night comedian should be featuring it in their routines. Are they?

Well, of course not, that just means he CARES, it's only if that no-good BLUMPF promises it that it's proof he's insane.....

And honestly, I'll give him a "pass" insofar that I think losing his son has really messed him up inside....
Yeah, on that point my heart goes out to him. It is terrible for a child to predecease a parent. But if he's that unhinged about it, I don't know that I want him at the controls.

Which is why that sympathy doesn't last, he's clearly in over his head and needs to get out before he gets mercilessly torn a new one.... because "be patient , I have autism lost a kid" isn't going to cut it when you're grilled on the campaign trail about how you'll handle sitting behind the Executive Des,k and someone demands accounting for your decisions.

IIRC, during the SOTU address this year, Trump talked about funding research on childhood cancers to eliminate them at last. The Dems have no real action items of their own (that they won't get hanged for mentioning, that is), so I suspect Biden's handlers are cribbing from Trump's to-do list.

Why? "People" are stupid. "People" still think "cancer" is a single thing, for God's sake.

If my version of "people" does not match your version of "people", well, trust that mine exists too. And those are the ones being catered to.

Drone program is probably still going on.

Obama's getting bonus level points, while Trump doesn't know he's scoring.

Maybe, but it seems like if it was the media would have suddenly developed a fresh new interest in reporting it, much like they did the detention centers and "children in cages" at the border. They haven't shown any shame in blaming Trump for shit Obama started/continued/ramped up so far, I'm not sure why they'd suddenly develop a sense of discretion over the drone strikes.

They would absolutely jump at the chance to label him a "literal murderer", a "bloodthirsty dictator slaughtering the helpless and then laughing about it over a bucket of KFC."

I briefly wondered if perhaps they're keeping mum over it because they're worried Barr will suddenly remember that Obama needs to be prosecuted for that, but then I remembered that Dem operatives haven't demonstrated that sort of forethought or discretion in a very long time.
