Aaah, the miraculous planet we inhabit, filled with beautiful secrets and wonders.
A vast ocean and deep jungles, home of thousands of species we haven't even discovered.
The moon, largest body next to us, a small planet orbiting our fragile world, keeping the axis of Earth stable, has enough speed to not crash down on us. Space right in front of our eyes.
Due to the evolution of life, smallest creatures developed new traits over millionths and millionths of years, using the strangest methods, so animals of all kinds, including us humans and plants, share the same ancestors. Or at least the same type, very basic building blocks of life.
Once we shared the planet with other human like creatures. But because they couldn't adapt only we survived as a species. All of us, no matter where you life, no matter your skin color or language, is the result of their success. We are one species, all of us.
Mankind developed in very short time technologies which nobody else than experts can understand because those mechanisms are quite complex. We formed the planet in just some thousands of years with our incredible intellect, and now we and all of nature suffer from the consequences of our industrialization.
All of us are created from star dust. We are made of elements which can only be formed in stars. Even some rare elements in small quantities, created in supernovae.
We are lucky to experience a time when the galaxies are still visible and space beautiful. In many billionth of years the Dark Energy which opens the rifts between galaxies will have them accelerated so fast from each other that their light won't reach us. So in this time the mankind won't even know that there is more than just the Milky Way (or Milkdromeda, the fusion with Andromeda).
Everything is made of tiny particles, energy values, a world where our logic does not apply. The Planck world, if you think you understood it, you have in fact not. But we are still using those properties for our daily inventions.
Gravity, the weakest force of all, keeps us on the ground. On the planet which was created by gravity. Masses attract masses as they bend space. Without this strange phenomenon we wouldn't have a universe to speak of. We stand here because we are trapped in a weak gravity well, which is also trapped in the well of the sun, which is inside the well of a single big Black Hole in the centre of our galaxy.
Space and time is quite different than intuition tells us, thanks to Albert Einstein we know this. Time is bound to space, and time is relative to a spectator. The flow of time changes in a gravity well and at very high speeds. In fact the core of our planet is 2,5 years younger than the surface (for as much as I can remember).
The beauty of nature, formed through processes in an unfathomable timeframe. From the highest mountains to the deepest and biggest ravine, everyone can see, experience and enjoy them. A fascinating world.
