It's also (in my exceptional brain anyway) meant to immediately harken back to one of the more iconic images/sequences of one of the most famous cyberpunk works in popular culture: Zhora being retired in Blade Runner.

Zoe doesn't understand even the foundations of cyberpunk, and ought to shut her whore mouth about it. It also created intrigue, peeled off layer by layer, from her looking like a victim, to taking a bullet to the dome without flinching, to grotesque blades coming out of her arms, to bodies and blood around her in a river of blood on the street. With the setting and society it takes place in it's hard to understand what happened or how it happened, the teaser was very effective at creating that sense of mystery and grotesque unfamiliarity. At least for me, I'm not at all familiar with the game it's based on and after watching that trailer I really wanted to know the story behind that event.
