Shane: There was a point, before everyone actually knew what was going on and all this stuff that Nick (sic) was working behind the scenes, with some of the defendants, and an unnamed middleman and in the process of it, was working on a statement showing his guilt and it fell apart for two reasons. First of all, not only did it admit his guilt, but it was sort of asking for concessions in the process of it that no one wanted to agree to and then the middleman found out that Monica had hired an attorney, or a law firm, and this is before Ty, realized that Monica had hired a law firm and at that point, cut off all communications of this basic agreement that they were trying to come to.
Person 1: Interesting.
Person 2: That makes no sense, but OK.
Person 1: [unintelligible] not gonna make a post about it.
Shane: Don’t make a post about it. Just bookmark it.
Person 2: I don’t even, wait...
Person 1: I can’t. I don’t have any evidence and I don’t post without evidence.
Shane: No, no, no. I’m not telling you to post it. I’m just saying, remember that I’m saying this. Remember that I’m saying this to the people in the chat, that Vic was working on a statement about stuff.
Person 1: That’s fine and all and for the record dude, I didn’t even know who Nick was. I wasn’t interested in Comicsgate originally. The reason I hopped on the Nick bandwagon was because of the whole Tonkasaw shitstorm. Oh my god that was fucking gold.
Shane: Man, how many times I actually hear that people who don’t know who Vic are who are actually the ones who are standing up for Vic the most is just insane. That is just insane how many times I actually hear that exact phrase “I didn’t know who Vic was before this stuff started”.
Person 1: Well, it’s true. I mean, his channel had about half the subs. I mean, same with Ty Beard.
Shane: So why...
Person 1: He has good charisma and he’s very entertaining. I like hearing drunk people yell at midnight.
Shane: No, no. I understand the Rekeita thing. I understand why people would watch him, I really do. I mean, I hate on him, but we’re like basically like big brothers fighting each other. I don’t understand why jump on the Vic bandwagon for someone that you’ve never met, you’ve never heard about, you have no idea who he is. Why jump on that bandwagon when there’s so many people who are against him. And I’m not going to... just for the sake of the conversation, I’m not going to imply guilt or innocence in any sense whatsoever. Just basically looking at the facts, that we had this voice actor who has been in the industry for 20 years. He’s one of the people who helped found the industry in America, and aside from like one person, no one else has actually come out publicly in his favor. No one. Even Todd. People say, “Well, Todd did.” Todd didn’t. Todd didn’t come out in his favor. Not publicly. So what convinces someone who has no idea who this guy is, to come out in his favor knowing that no one else in the entire industry, no one he has ever worked with for 20 years is coming out and defending him.
Person 1: Well, why don’t we take that question and flip it upside down to mirror it on the other side. Why are people from PULL doing the exact opposite? They had idea no who Vic was until this whole thing started. They probably didn’t even know what Dragonball Z or Broly was.
Shane: You’ve got a point. You actually have a valid point there. There are people on both sides doing the exact same thing, who have no idea what this is and those are the people who are just in this to fight some kind of stupid culture war.
Person 1: As I’ve said before, I’m not on either side. I just enjoy a good shitshow and ho lord can you guys deliver.
Shane: This is one hell of a shitshow. It really is.
Person 1: It’s brilliant. I mean, I am thoroughly entertained. This shit is better than TV.
Shane: And I’m just going to say this, because eventually at some point down the road, many moons from now, some point down the road. This shit’s all gonna be, this segment of this shit’s gonna be done and at that point, once that part happens, what’s gonna need to happen at that point is someone’s gonna need to actually like start calling up the cons and the reason why is because there’s so many of ‘em who have had more of a part of this entire debacle than Monica, Jamie or anyone else, Marzgurl, anyone else you’ve ever heard of who played their role and you know, I’ve made this comment on Twitter a lot. I know Kiwi has it, but I made this comment one time that this entire thing basically looked like a battlefield and there’s a bunch of people fighting over some kind of flag and they didn’t notice the generals on the other side already went home. The actual purpose behind that comment was what Vic wanted to do was to get back into anime and get back into actually doing conventions.
Person 1: Yes, that’s true, but even in your first interview you automatically assumed guilt and said that you’d be willing to help him but only if he ducked out for a few months then came back as a changed man. If he’s truly innocent, why would have to admit to something he never did? I mean, we do live in a country where it is innocent until proven guilty
Shane: OK, wait, hold on. Innocent until proven guilty in a criminal proceeding. You guys are like seriously. The reason this whole like criminal thing keeps coming up is because you guys like spend way too much
Person 1: Tortious interference. He had a contract.
Shane: Yeah, but that’s not criminal, it’s civil. You guys spend way too much into what actually happened and to what actually Vic has done. That’s the problem.
Person 1: That is fair. You got me on that.
Shane: But this is not a court of law there. This is basically one, two production studios and some conventions that decided to drop him. There's nothing criminal about this. Per se.
Person 1: Regardless, if he didn’t commit the crime why should have to apologize for it? That’s almost as fucked up as
Shane: I am technically, according to some video, I am the leader of Kick Vic and I am fucking telling you
Person 1: No, you’re not. No, you’re not.
Shane: Well, Marzgurl, let’s get Marzgurl in here and maybe. Marzgurl’s gonna disagree with me so let’s not get her in here. Vic has not committed the crimes that people say he committed. Vic has done things that based on Texas law, might be considered simple assault. That doesn’t mean it’s OK. It just means he’s not a criminal that everyone is making him out to be. It’s so fucking mundane. It’s fucking sexual harassment. It is so fucking simple and this entire thing, this blown up ordeal over something that is so fucking mundane. That is what all this is about.
