I don’t think there being an age gap determines whether or not you can’t be friends. What it does dictate is how you should act around them. You can’t be popping the same attitude you do with friends your age in that scenario.

As much as I agree that callout culture is fucking cancerous and unhealthy with how it leads to a lack of trust between everyone and how easily abused it is, the fact that it’s coming from someone like Eevee does the argument a huge disservice. Glip, Eevee, and Marl all did shit to warrant the outrage and there was proof that it happened. They’re not the victims of callout culture, they’re the victims of their own actions. It’s also devalued by the fact that their group is participating in the same callout culture he’s claiming he hates.

What is rejection sensitivity?

Rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD) is an intense vulnerability to the perception – not necessarily the reality – of being rejected, teased, or criticized by important people in your life. RSD causes extreme emotional pain that may also be triggered by a sense of failure, or falling short – failing to meet either your own high standards or others’ expectations.

Half of people who are mandated by courts to receive anger-management training had previously unrecognized ADHD.


Some people avoid rejection by becoming people pleasers. Others just opt out altogether, and choose not to try because making any effort is so anxiety-provoking.

What can I do to manage rejection sensitivity?

98-99% of adolescents and adults with ADHD acknowledge experiencing RSD. For 30%, RSD is the most impairing aspect of their ADHD, in part because it does not respond to therapy.


Alpha-agonist medications, like guanfacine and clonidine, can help treat it. Only about one in three people experience relief from either medication, but 60% experience robust benefits when both are tried. When successfully treated, people with RSD report feeling “at peace,” or like they have “emotional armor.” They still see the same things happening that would have previously wounded them, but now it bounces off without injury. They also report that, rather than three or four simultaneous thoughts, they now have just one thought at a time.

It's frankly sad and pathetic that a group of people OVER THE AGE OF 30 - are all actively involved in a messy young adult breakup like this. Sensible, well adjusted adults understand that you don't barrel in like this. Whatever your view on someone is, it should really end once the relationship is over. At worst you take a parting shot if you really feel someone deserves it, but otherwise - it's not helping your "friend" to hound their ex in this manner.

If (and this is a very big if) these things are true, then they should see it as a lucky escape for Rina and help her move on, because surely it's actually a good thing she's away from this dangerous guy and actually much better to shut down all engagement with this dude and get her mind off it. But we all know it's more because all of them have the social IQ of 15 year olds still on DeviantArt.

That said, all of this ignores that Semi has admitted he had unhealthy ways of dealing with his issues and was getting therapy for it. There's not much more that guy can do other than get that help and process what happened to him and how to stop impulses that he knows are bad. That's better than certain other peoples methods of "support" or "coping".

The Floraverse discord seems to consist of Glip, Eevee and Opa, and maybe a few older people - with a bunch of really young dogsbodies who are dealing with their own growing pains and identity issues that Glip lords over and kinda toys with. Was the case for Joop, that MS Paint comic person, and these guys. All were young teens with self-confidence issues being jerked around by her and her confidants.

Glip isn't your friend, and isn't a good adult model. A good adult wouldn't get stuck into your high school soap drama breakups nor expect you to fight their battles for them. Their methods of coping are horrid and not to be emulated. Rina will be part of the group while they can use her for ammo at Semi and use her maybe as another young attack dog, will be dropped like so many others when they become "inconvenient" somewhere down the line.
