Okay, you know what. I like anime dubs. I'm dubs > subs.
And let me tell you. Monica Rial is a horrible voice actress. It's not because she's a bad person or a lying snake. It's not because of that weird political sour grapes people pull on things that don't agree with them. It's because she has three whole voices - Index (by FAR her most common and most annoying voice), Froppy (which she basically only uses on Froppy, because it would be weird for a non-frog), and Bulma (which is just copying the three before her, but worse). I hate every time Rial appears in an anime voice, because her Index voice is extremely grating. It's high pitched and reedy, the personality always seems to end up the same, and no matter what character she gives that voice, in the end I just want to punt them off the face of the Earth.
Rial is the only voice I have actually hated in dubs, and I've bonded with people before over agreeing on what an irritating, nail grating voice she has, and how bad her dubs are.
The only way you could call Rial 'one of the best voice actresses in anime right now' is if you're sucking on her teat or delusional. Cristina Vee may be weird, but at least she has a bunch of voices and is good at her job. Laura Bailey is honestly kind of a dick, but she's a good voice actress. Maile Flanigan has a screechy voice, but by gosh at least she makes Naruto sound like a male when she needs to. Rial is, at her best, a mediocre knock-off of better voice actresses, and overwhelmingly just awful. The dubbing industry as a whole would be better if she dropped out of it and spared us of 1000 index copies in roles she apparently gets because she sucks up to Sabat and other influential figures.
