I doubt he'd "wipe the floor" with Trump but I do agree that Biden is the only major candidate who could actually have a chance of beating Trump AND has DNC support.
Tulsi Gabbard could probably beat Trump but she has no real support and is despised by both the DNC Establishment and the SJW "woke" crowd.
Gabbard is, quietly, what USED to be mainstream Democrat. The fact she's too far-right for the current party tells you why they're floundering . If it was 1992, the Dems would be trampling small children and pets in a stampede to push her to the head of the nomination, and she would likely mop the floor with a Republican challenger since the overriding meme of the 90's was "Time to buck traditional old white dudes" So a sane, measured, female D candidate with moderate D positions would have easily won when the economy was good and the late 90's elections were pretty much window-dressings that weren't expected to do anything except look good and finish up the 20th Century with a strong and "correct" leader at the helm. Annointing Clinton last time was a move that came 20 years too late, they pretty much dusted off the "If we have a charismatic woman for 92' " battle plan and ran it, ignoring the fact it wasn't 92' and Clinton wasn't charismatic and the "vote woman because it's time!" branding came off as tone-deaf and insulting, especially when the SJWs picked it up and made it "Vote woman unless you want us all to DIE you mysogynists!"
If Trump obliterates them in 2020, I have a feeling you'll see a more serious push to get someone like her nominated for 2024.
But yeah, Biden/Harris is the likely ticket, change my mind.

I've always thought that the more Trump can get the left to fixate on impeachment/Russia, the more it benefits him, since your average swing voter couldn't care less about those things compared to topics like jobs, immigration, or wars. Trump must think that bringing it up benefits him somehow, since he stokes that fire every few days like clockwork.
The overriding feeling I get about the standard Dem talking points these days, from the Russia Russia Russia! all the way down to the canned LGBT-month proclamations of "stunning!" "brave!" "proud!" is, well, FATIGUE.
People, average people, are TIRED of it all.

The D talking points about diversity and feelings and minority representation have been banged on so long, it's no longer, well, even exciting to their own activists. "Nostalgia" is openly being used as a strategy to turn out the vote... "Hey, remember when these ideas were NEW and FRESH? Remember how GOOD it felt to vote for us?"
