They've managed to bilk a lot of money out of the python community after the python board got filled with SJWs a few years back; IMO python should be seriously avoided for new projects because the language working group has lost their focus on technical improvements and puts a lot of energy into the "culture" side.
I dont' know why more people don't see this stuff for the racketeering that it is. Lots of otherwise unemployable """engineers""" move into the softer side of things to take money for their 0 technical contributions.

The only language worse than Python for making "serious applications" would probably be Ruby. Props to Corey for bringing life back into this thread with his pointless, and hilariously naive attempt to get CloudFlare to censor perfectly legal content.

I disagree, PHP is the worst "language" i've touched, and IMO ruby is better for application development than python whereas python is better for scripting.

Ruby is god awful slow, and if metasploit wasn't written in Ruby we could be done with it forever. I can't even imagine anyone writing a PHP backend in [CURRENT YEAR], so I wasn't even considering it.
