T. Greg Doucette / Thomas Gregory Doucette / greg_doucette / TGDLaw / fsckemall / lawdevnull / TDot - Super Lawyer, Failed Politician, Captain of The Threadnought, Drowning in Debt

Edit - here is a related quote from a Web article archived a week ago. Sorry if I missed it in this thread:

'Without student housing, Doucette found himself essentially homeless. His girlfriend at the time, Teresa Nichols, let him use her dorm during the day to shower. "He'd sleep in his truck some nights, the library some nights," says Nichols, who went on to work for Senate leader Phil Berger and Senator Harry Brown, both influential Republicans. "After three months or so, I put enough money aside for us to get an apartment together."'

There's two ways of looking at what is going on with his pro bono work, but they aren't incompatible. One is that it's about ego; he's a narcissist, which is why he ran for office and why he interposed himself in the #KickVic controversy to acquire narcissistic supply. Successful lawyers do pro bono, therefore he does too. The second way of looking at it is to note that he's done fundraising for his "pro bono" cases and the whole thing is actually a scam to hide money from creditors.

I don't know about the salary of a state senator in North Carolina, but I won't rule out that this also was a fcator for him running for office.
Yeah, actually these are good point, you made, he's permanently pounding his chest and stroking his ego, but when you scratch of a little bit of the color there's nothing behind it.
A scam to hide money from creditors? Color me surprised.

So...he basically banged the "ugly girl" so he could get an appartment, then once he got the law degree left town laughing?

And he wonders why we think he's a joke.

I wonder what his girlfriend of 10(!) years thinks of him saying she makes a TON more than him and yet refuses to pop the question...

Well, it's either he is a bad lawyer or he really mostly just does pro bono work, which neither of them makes you any money.
IMHO, it's a combination of both with Twatter addiction as a sidedish.

Comparison:
15$/hr x 70 hrs/week = 1050 $/week
1050$/week x 4 = 4200 $/month
4200$ x 12 = 50400/year

He was either cooking the books or it is really like I wrote above.
IMHO, the 30k per years sounds really fishy.
Hell $30k a year is roughly equivalent to $14/hrs @ 40hr/wk meaning motherfucking Buc-ee's cashiers make more than him

Wait is that him pushing the bullshit that Ty is selling merch? Look at the previous tweet. How incompetent is he?

"And unlike certain people, I didn't keep moving the end goal yardstick trying to coax y'all into giving more money "
It's been moved once.

This is their ace in the hole...wow.

All pro bono means in effect is you aren't charging fees. You can still fundraise for costs, and in civil rights cases, move for fees if you win. As an example of the shit that constitutes "pro bono" work, Chelsea van Valkenburg has white shoe firm Wilmher Hale do "pro bono" work in her revenge lawsuit against her abused ex Eron Gjoni, unconstitutionally silencing him and violating his First Amendment rights, then running away and dropping the suit immediately when it was appealed.

This is more anti bono than pro bono.
Still, though, just because he might be asking money for something legit doesn't mean that he isn't scamming. Look at his GFM for his CPAP death abatement machine. Looking at this fatty you can easily believe that he really does have sleep apnea and really does need his machine. But he took in WAY more than was needed to buy one. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him doing the same with his pro bono fundraisers.

Well for once Douchette is right about something. He's not good enough for his gf. But, instead of leaving her to find a life he has attached himself as a parasite. If the GF were to start exercising, she'd leave him the instant other male attention became noticeable. If only he became a State Senator to resolve his lack of inner confidence he'd achieve his life's goal of happiness. That didn't happen but maybe owning people on twitter for 12hr/s day will do it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him shit his pants, piss up a rope, or go blind, but just having a GFM for legal costs (not fees) would not necessarily make something not pro bono.

That sounds like a sad situation in the making. Even if Doucette is logically incomprehensible, monkey branching-style hypergamy is the enemy of man.

...then again, I did humor myself with the possibility that he's already being cuckolded, but only as a joke. I think it's because in that scenario, I at least take solace that he's found something comfortable for him... or the fact that he wholly, indisputably dug his own grave by agreeing so something to blatantly selfish.

First thing from that article - "He's exhausting on Twitter, clogs up your feed with replies and retweets." Even back then he was a nutcase who got his dopamine rushes from randoms on the internet.

That article fills in almost all the gaps. Good find. Let's see if we can piece this together.

He apparently did two years at NC State on scholarship (98-00) that didn't cover room and board and his parents went lolno at filling out a FAFSA. Dropped out and spent 2-ish years unloading UPS trucks and being some kind of legal clerk assistant for 4 (which he got fired from). When his gf kicked him to the curb in 2006 (roughly around when he got fired and excommunicated from the county GOP for being a sperg) he went MAX STUDENT LOANS for the next 6-7 years finishing his undergrad (06-9) and law school (10-12).

According to the OP after law school is when he started his NCSPICE bullshit that didn't go anywhere. Then his scampaign for NC Senate (15-16), then bankruptcy (17) because he paid for it with credit cards, then twitter irrelevance ever since.

Also, in rereading the OP, this guy is classic clear-cut deadbeat dad. He knocked up his HS girlfriend and skipped town for NC State at 17 then proceeded to not have a real job for the last 20 years getting by mostly mooching off of his perma-gfs or taking out student loans larger than the GDP of several Latin American countries.

What a winner at life.

For a guy who will bring up his experience of being abused at home by a single mother and step dad, and his experience with being homeless, he's ironically probably placing his kid in a similar circumstance to his own.
