Even when I was a middle school girl, boys had this "joke" about how girls' slumber parties were really just about "practicing kissing" and pillow fights. So often, these troons talking about their poor sad lost girlhoods have no idea that they're illustrating exactly what boys thought girlhood was, not girls.

I assume hearing the possible bad outcome of SRS to a trans person that wants SRS, is like telling a smoker all the negative possible things that could happen to them in the future as a consequence of smoking. The smoker usually starts yelling at you to shut up because they don't want to hear it. It makes them worry and induces anxiety. I'd assume that is why she feels she is being ignored by the Reddit.

There was some reddit troon that got posted in this thread a few months back who was having a meltdown. He didn't want people to talk about the complications of SRS because that make him not want to get the surgery.

You'd think people would want to take charge of their health and know the risks of any potential procedure but nope.

Most anime is escapist fantasy.
They hate their lives and they hate themselves, so naturally they would latch onto it.

And I remember a specific post back on LarpsAndTheRealGirl's old tumblr (RIP) that had a few talking points related to an anime to troon pipeline. The best I could find related to this was this article on Medium, so take it with a grain of salt, but it and the prior article I'm thinking of conflate CGDCT (Cute Girls Doing Cute Things) anime and the men who watch them to be primary victims of the weeb to troon pipeline.

You can't help but think, every time you take a drag off a cigarette, you go, "This is cancer, I can feel it." *puff* "Yeah, that's cancer, this --" *puff* "Oh, I can feel it growin' in me, oh god, there's cancer all over me."

I have a few other super reliable standup comedy sources here, but the point is that if you wonder whether a given smoker is cognitive of the deadly facts, or at least aware that they're doing something bad to their health, chances are they are, and they might even be thinking about it while they smoke. (But if they are managing not to, it would be irritating to have someone bringing it up and throwing off their smoke break.)

Discovering how to want to stop smoking is, in spite of the health evidence, the main struggle of stopping. And the answer usually begins and ends with subjective disgust or admitting that it hardly does anything for you anymore. The medical truth is in everyone's mind but it just doesn't have as much weight as it seems like it should.

I was talking about the psychological phenomenon of people not wanting to hear the truth because it bothers them. I used smokers as an example of this occurring.
