I'm not a felon so I've never gone through that process, but lower grade jobs basically don't give a shit at all, they just need warm bodies. I've worked at "specialist" retailers despite not being in those fields of interest, gas stations will hire active meth heads and NOT fire them if it means the manager has to work graveyard, etc etc.
