Who is giving him bars, was he prescribed them? Benzos and booze are a hell of a combination and if he doesnt taper off, if he's been on a month long bender, on top of being a wino, he's kind of in danger if he just quits cold turkey.

If he's in any way at all physically dependent on either, those are the two drugs where withdrawals could kill you. It's not just being dopesick, it's shakes and seizures. Actually Ive heard the withdrawals from benzos are worse than alcohol, anyway, (its not just the anhedonia of any addict not getting their drug that makes them happy) nevermind the physical aspect.

Pretty sure a month-long bender on booze alone requires medical observation to come off of safely. I don't really know anything about pills so I can't even imagine how much more dangerous it'd be for him to stop without going to a hospital from doing that shit along with MM.

Way back when Akira got doxed he mentioned that Ralph had a variety of substances of choice from before jail, so he probably already knows where to go/who to go to in that regard. Alternatively, it's not difficult to bullshit a psychiatrist, just ask the trannies on reddit.

My speculation is that he got them from a doctor. He could easily spin a tale about the death of his father coupled with his sick mother has made him very anxious.

If I have to guess, he's using his mother's prescriptions. One of the many drugs that are prescribed to dialysis patients is Tramadol, which is a narcotic. I forgot the name of the other one, but that one is a opiate. He might be using his mother's prescription to buy drugs and take it for himself. As for the effect of the drugs, as someone who witnessed someone that takes it regularly, it can really make you high as a kite and knock yourself out, just to make you forget the physical pain (in relevance to dialysis).
