It's embarrassing as shit. I haven't moderated it prior because it just makes me sad, and I know I have a bias to shitposting (because it makes no goddamn sense, especially when we have chat. Why does one need to permanently shit up a subforum with tism? "LOL UR A FEG" "LOL U 2 #TYCED" it's all so autistic).

There's no need to raise this entire forums requirements that high, I'll just move the sensitive threads to the inner circle. Like new users may want to discuss things in off topic subforums like gaymen or music or whatever. it makes little sense to cut off all of off topic to people, and it's redundant to have two forums discussing the same shit, one full of regs, one new users.

I dunno, it just seems elitist to disallow people into off topic just because they haven't been here long enough.

Shitposting can be fun. Its a way to act like an idiot and goof off and behave in ways you're not supposed to, like singing loudly when you're taking a shower or playing Cards Against Humanity with your church's choir. I understand its not everyone's bag of tea, but then some people don't like video games or discussing them. It only works well, however, if the space is dedicated to that kind of behavior. If someone walks into a room where everyone is wearing pants on their head and begins to take things seriously it kills the mood.

EDIT: The giant sticky thread is probably the best solution. I just hope we can keep a space (preferably a sort of private one) where we can act like spergs together for the fun of it without it being a detriment elsewhere.

I don't really feel a need to change anything about offtopic. I've never heard anyone complain about the lax requirements to access it. If you're paranoid and don't want spergs that have only been here a few days to see your picture or see you pouring your soul out to the community, then don't post it?
I adore you all, but anytime you put any info on the interwebs, there's a chance some tard will find it and harrass you bc they have no life or whatever. You're pushing your luck posting that kind of stuff here considering what this forum is dedicated to.
So ya, I say it's fine the way it is.
Also, Mel, good luck on deleting all the shitposting in the subforum meant to contain shitposts. Gonna cleanse supporters shitposts at some point too? You're gonna drink yourself to death attempting that, girlie

Let people get into chat after 1,000 posts, 10,000 likes, and been here six months, and then we'll get to know them and vote on whether we like them enough to let them into Off-Topic after they send Null an application with their medical records proving they don't have autism or autism-related diseases.

I like that you have to first establish that you're not a complete waste of air before you're allowed to post in off-topic. It's nice that there's a part of the board that is, if not immune, less susceptible to being completely shitted up whenever something big happens to Chris. Maybe I'm "elitist" but I feel like this forum is a community, and until you have ingratiated yourself into said community and learned it's culture you shouldn't necessarily be allowed to touch everything with your sticky fingers. It's bad enough seeing everyone and their brother fall over themselves to misuse A-Log in the Chris boards.

The requirements we have are barely requirements. I think we're much better off without the input of anyone incapable of reaching them.

You have to fall a bunch before you can walk. A place given over to unbridled creativity will produce both garbage and genius. You can't have the good without the bad.
