Everyone saying "THEY SHOULD SUE THE PSYCH WARD11!!" is full of shit. This shit happens all the fucking time. Everyone in the mental health system is too overworked & underpaid to deal with this shit. A lot of patients slip through the cracks. It sucks & it's sad, but that's how it is. Suing people isn't gonna result in the reform the mental health care system needs. & frankly, the fact that no one cares about it until some YouTube e-celeb bites it is frankly disgusting. Not to say Etika was a bad guy who deserved this outcome (though I honestly don't know enough about him beyond his previous suicide baiting, & I only knew of that in passing), but the fact that everybody only cares now when veterans blow their brains out & homeless schizos hop in front of trains every day & no one gives a shit just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Fair point. People should really care more about suicide and mental health issues beyond an e-celeb, it's not right that there's others just like this in his shoes that get slipped through and normally get no attention until someone big gains traction for becoming an hero.

Guess I'm more mad that these idiots managed to miss that on top of being detained on video and there being evidence on his social media he was losing his mind they just gave him the boot and moved on instead of being competent.

Never heard of the guy until a bunch of people on a Discord server started talking about his past history of b8ing and his recent erratic behavior.

Condolences to the family, having a family member commit suicide is something no one should ever experience because the fact of the matter never fades away.

my feelings of this are rather mixed tbh. Etika has both irritated the crap out of me and has made me laugh, but I don't think I would ever wish for anything as hateful.
however, as distasteful as this is, I feel someone should ref this song at least once so I will be the black sheep here:

Well, it seems most of you were right. I hope the man finds peace in heaven, and that his family finds the strength to move on despite what's happened.

I recall someone saying that he and his brother haven't spoken in like, a year, but what's the deal with him and his other family members?

real talk though the real lesson is for people to take care of people that are close to them. fans at a distance can't make the same difference as a close friend or family member

Psh, amateur! you could've picked something way more "offensive":

On top of that, he probably refused treatment, which is well within a patient's rights, under most circumstances.
The legal barriers for going against a patient's informed decision are rather high, and rightfully so.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

No it isn't. Suppose you're a complete idiot. That's not going to get better. It's a permanent problem. Even if you don't kill yourself, you're still going to be a complete idiot.

Maybe this guy was a complete idiot and he killed himself to escape that.

The only brother I know he had died back in 2010. I don't think he ever said what it was besides " he did something stupid" but it definitely got to him. A lot of people think it was suicide too. Feel absolutely terrible for their parents if it's true, to have kids die before you is rough, but both of them committing suicide has got to be the worst feeling in the world.

Edit: He does have 2 brothers. The younger one is still alive, and the older brother is Randy Amofah who is the one who died in 2010

Picture of Etika talking about it in 2015 and how it still gets to him.

And a tribute video of his brother Randy either uploaded by Etika or someone from his family
