This must be excruciating for the parents. Imagine 2 of your 3 kids dying before you did. It'd almost seem like a curse.
Can I get some lighters in the crowd?

Seriously though, can we all stop moralfagging as if something of value was lost? There is one less garbage-tier instagrammer on the internet now.

Dude swore up and down he was happy and healthy, wouldn't even give the cops the time of day, imagined vast conspiracies to "take him out," and when those never materialized, he finished the job himself. This shit was inevitable, and frankly, couldn't have happened to a better person.

I'll admit that I was partially in the same boat as most here thinking it was another probable attention ploy, while taking some of the "blackened" social media outlet changes with a grain of salt, but it turns out those times really were genuine feelings after all.

Was never really a fan of his, but it's still pretty saddening and shocking to hear about nonetheless.

F

Probably was coming down from mania. That’s when it’s the most common for bipolar people (assuming he is based on what is out there) to off themselves. Props on doing a flip.

I wouldn't call it "moralfagging" if someone genuinely believes the incident is tragic. You're just throwing that word around because people are sympathetic towards a guy you don't care about. We have different opinions on the subject. With that being said, I don't fucking care if I am or not.

Man I never even watched this guys content only seen and knew about hime through memes. Was hoping he was alive though seemed funny and straight up honest, which is hard for a youtuber that gets big. My favorite video is the like 3 second reaction were he goes "NIIGGGEEERRSSS?" like he read it off a comment surprised. Big F

Wow almost sounds like he was mentally ill or something

I'm genuinely curious as to what you mean by 'forcing ' a recovery. I've never heard of such a thing. Can you give examples?

Intervention and, if required, involuntary check-in to a psych facility. You have to treat some people who suffer from such destructive mental illness as if they were a drug addict or alcoholic, in that they've gone too far to stop on their own and someone else needs to step in. The problem lies with the fact most facilities can't keep a person involuntarily held for more than 48-72 hours (I believe) if they aren't showing signs of being a danger to themself or others, depending on what state the facility is in.

Yeah, we shoulda spent our tax dollars strapping him to a chair and medicating him so his family could sue the state for millions.

As far as I can tell, the problem solved itself.

Don't get me wrong. I'll be the first to stand and applaud when they re-open the asylums over this. But I'm not holding my breath, either.

Nothing. Value. Lost.

Nobody is saying Etika was a value to society. We're saying it's tragic that mental illness needlessly claimed a young life.

Get fucked, insensitive prick.

Edit: Vote me mad at the internet all you want, I can take it.

I never said anything about Etika. All I was ever trying to insinuate was that parents shouldn't have to fucking bury their children.

Edit: Late and Buddhist.

The part after the link was just a general statement. I only quoted you because your post reminded me of that song.

But here's another general statement: Don't let me stop anyone donating to a charity of their choice, now that we all care about mental health awareness all of a sudden. Hell, if his family is smart, they'll do a kickfundme.

Is it too early to guess gravestone epitaphs? Or should I give it a few days for everyone to get off the collective rag about it?

Everyone saying "THEY SHOULD SUE THE PSYCH WARD11!!" is full of shit. This shit happens all the fucking time. Everyone in the mental health system is too overworked & underpaid to deal with this shit. A lot of patients slip through the cracks. It sucks & it's sad, but that's how it is. Suing people isn't gonna result in the reform the mental health care system needs. & frankly, the fact that no one cares about it until some YouTube e-celeb bites it is frankly disgusting. Not to say Etika was a bad guy who deserved this outcome (though I honestly don't know enough about him beyond his previous suicide baiting, & I only knew of that in passing), but the fact that everybody only cares now when veterans blow their brains out & homeless schizos hop in front of trains every day & no one gives a shit just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Being insane or suicidal doesn't make you stupid. If i turned suicidal and not just attention seeking you wouldn't be able to stop me. There is just no way to stop a determined suicidal person I don't think.

I’ve never watched the guy, but following his thread here he never came off to me as a bad dude, just someone with severe mental issues that were greatly exacerbated by his fan base and his status as an Internet personality. His death honestly IS pretty tragic because looking back on his recent history, you get the idea that it was inevitable - if not last week, then he would have offed himself the next time he had a mental breakdown, or the time after that, because there’s only so much you can do for someone who won’t accept the help he needs.

Exactly, the brain malfunctions that can lead to suicide aren't things that necessarily erase someone's ability to think "rationally".

Someone can dedicate to suicide, and actually consider things like "Okay, its time to check out, but i want my organs to be donated so Im' useful to someone, so I can't use poison or have my body go missing long enough to rot, and I dont' want to leave a mess for the EMTs so can't blow my head off either."

Its really fucking frightening.

Rip Etika.
I hope his fans take up his legacy, it’s what he would of wanted.
He had so many friends he pushed away and have his fame take over his entire life. I wish he’d decide to seek help and attempt to become a better person. Things like this make me hate humanity in general.
Hopefully, he’s resting in Heaven.

Everyone on Twitter and liking and retweeting shit like “remember there is a person behind the avatar.” I feel like this is redundant in this situation in particular, but I feel like what most people should be taking away from this situation is making sure you have appropriate support around you and get some sort of mental help if you need it. Some people don’t even realize that they need it so hopefully that person has someone close to them who can guide them the right way. When you put yourself on the Internet, you’re relinquishing control over what you want your narrative to look like because people are going to judge you, and maybe if you can’t handle that by yourself you should get some help. I don’t think it has anything to do with “internet bullying” from people, because it doesn’t matter who you are but there are going to be people who make fun of you.
So yeah I mean “remember this was a real person,” who made some very big decisions by himself and it’s not like any of these people who are using this as an example were reaching out to help him when he was having breakdowns.
