In blackjack if you're counting an ace as an 11 and you get a card that would normally make you bust, the ace will shift into a 1, preventing you from busting. Say my hand was an A,6 and i asked to hit and i get a Q. Then my hand would add up to either 27 or 17. Because 27 would mean i busted, the ace would be counted as a 1 and my hand would equal 17.

Allow me to correct my statement. The dealer would look at you like you're an idiot and gladly take your money from you.
Rule 1 of casinos: The house always wins.

Also card values aren't given to royal cards in poker.
