Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

This is honestly more about shielding the soyboys who make up Reddit's userbase from any mild discomfort than some nefarious electoral plot or commitment to enforcing their terms of service. Their users are supposed to be having fun on the internet looking at cat gifs and creaming themselves over the latest Disney Star Wars product, not getting stressed out that some autistic boomer Republicans could be lurking in some corner of the same platform as them.

Any interest Reddit had in being a speech platform died with Aaron Swartz. They're an interactive Buzzfeed for beta males now.

ICE is vastly more powerful than antifa and is an arm of the US government under Trump, thus ICE doesn't get to claim victim status.

Except, oops, the_donald was shut down for threatening the POLICE. Who do they work for again? Which government?

I'm not personally in the white house, and trump being there doesn't have anything to do with various media companies censoring everything that goes against their political views.

How many murders have rightwingers in the US committed against churchgoers? New Zealand is not a US state, by the way.

So the people in that thread are making fun of a different bunch of people saying all ice agents deserve to die. And within that very thread:
"I don’t have the warmest feelings for ICE, but they shouldn’t be horribly killed! Wtf?! How can anyone wish that upon someone? I’ll just never understand that!"

"bc they are evil"

But yeah, I'm lying that subreddit exists. You've proved I lied about its existence by posting more proof of its existence. Well done.

I was having a hard time deciding whether I should feel bad about the dead children or shit-stained cops. Glad you cleared it up for me.
Dead children? Damn, they fucking murder children in that subreddit? I guess it's a good thing it was quarantined after all.

Ah well, if you didn't have completely irrelevant emotional appeals, you'd have nothing at all. Do you even know what position you are arguing at this point?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but quarantine doesn't even stop the sub's participants from doing anything, does it? r/braincels got quarantined like a year ago and they're still going strong.

Also at this point conservatives really should make a nice donation to bike lock dude's canteen fund. Y'all have gotten so much mileage out of that cunt, I swear in 50 years people will still bring that up whenever the right is criticized

If we're going to donate to ridiculous examples of lefties who hurt their own cause then we should go big and fund AOC for president. Bike lock dude is done generating drama, why throw money at him now?

AND the NEWS STORY has been moved from the news section to the community section and buried in a thread laughing at the subreddit.

This doesn't belong here just because it's tangentally related. Jesus fucking christ, is it irony when a story about censorship is hidden like this?

Actually that's a great question. Let me provide some context for the thread.

Oregon Republicans have literally fled the state in order to run the clock out on a bill that would enforce hard carbon emission caps. Gov. Kate Brown called on state troopers to return the lawmakers to the capital so the vote could be held, but various militia groups protested and vowed violence if such actions were taken. Protip: the militia groups aren't armed with bike locks.

A choice quote from a Republican senator:
Republican Sen. Brian Boquist implied that police officers who pursued them should be ready to die. “Send bachelors and come heavily armed,” Boquist warned police in a televised interview shortly before his walkout. “I’m not going to be a political prisoner in the state of Oregon. It’s just that simple.”

So here we have armed right-wing militias threatening actual civil war over voting on a climate change bill. What does this have to do with reddit? Well The Donald was in support of violence against the state troopers. Here's a media matters article with screencapped posts:

This exposes some cognitive dissonance that many Trump supporters seem to have. Even though Trump is the head of the federal government many of them still believe the federal government is their enemy. They'll preach about government tyranny while clinging to their guns even though the current government reflects their ideology closer than most other times in recent memory. Trump is simultaneously a God Emperor when he's winning, and then "Just one person" whenever things don't go his way. To me it seems clear that the only "government tyranny" many MAGA heads are worried about is a government that does things they disagree with politically.

So even though we BOTH know reddit wanted to shut down The Donald for a while, I think threatening a guerrilla war over politicians being scumbags is as good a reason as any. "Muh 2nd Amendment" types regularly salivate over the prospect of blowing away anyone who comes to take their guns, be it cops or anybody else. They're a bunch of violent jackass Rambo wannabes and I got no sympathy for them finally learning LARPing has consequences.

I can't think of how many times I've been called a shill on social media by hordes of fat boomers. In some cases they're just as bad as the SJWs they claim to hate. You can't say one thing you disagree with Trump about without them going insane.
Nothing feels better than being called a russian troll influencing the american election when you are in fact a swedish troll influencing the american election. GOT'EM

Hilariously and deliciously so.

Aside from small groups like the Proud Boys and that time the Best Buy Geek Squad did that thing with torches I've noticed when the Left goes to the extreme they do so in groups while the Right tends to go full loner/operator/innawoods.

EDIT: ALSO that time German citizens when full Visigoth mode when that girl was raped. I think that's less right wing extremism and more extreme moral outrage though.

Yeah, but did you know that Dylann Roof is a false flag who was personally paid by Soros, and anyway the victims were holograms and also all on welfare?

Besides, didn't you know the KKK was started by Democrats?

OMG! 11 right wing vs only 6 left wing. Shit, you're right, this is an emergency! But we better do something about those other/unknown people first, they're the real crazies with 62 kills in just 12 incidents.

I know it has happened, but in a country of hundreds of millions lots of people die every day. This is what you'd call "Statistically insignificant".

EDIT: Also the comments like "If they want to arrest me they better send bachelors" are what you'd call comments, based on a politician trying to weaponize the police against the other political side for doing something they themselves have done. Nobody actually shot any cops in that, no cops arrested any politicians either.

Under your logic, shouldn't that senator who responded to the gun rights talk with "Well the US government has nukes" be sent to jail for threatening the entire fucking country? Or do you suddenly develop the ability to understand context when its one of yours?

Girl, you literally insinuated that there were none, now you're moving the goal posts when proven wrong.

So the people freaking out about Antifa, alt-right death squads, Muslim terrorists, and the Christian Taliban are ALL freaking out over nothing?

Excellent, let's celebrate by repealing the Patriot Act

I love that it starts in 2002. I wonder what happened in 2001?

On a serious note, it's strange that people think bueracracy just thoughtlessly executes whatever orders they are given by the executive. There was resisitence to Obama in the bueracracy and there is definitely significant resistance to Trump. You can have a executive you agree with and a government you still largely dislike.
