Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but the video of Desmond with Michael Alig, particularly how the two men interact with him, is very reminiscent of Peter Truong and Mark Newton. If you haven't seen the documentary The Boy with the Henna Tattoo, it's about two gay men who whore out their son all over Europe, as well as filming themselves sexually abusing him. It's absolutely horrific, and reading through this thread there are a ton of similarities not only in the Alig video, but with Desmond's parents as well. Autism is a neuro muscular issue to the point where some low functioning suffers have very poor motor skills. As in bad enough that they cannot open a pair of glasses easily or other very basic tasks. That and the fact that many of the parents of low function people just give them whatever they want to keep them quiet means they typically eat very unhealthy fast food all the time. Explains why they are either super fat, or super stick.

I feel like saying they're "asking for it" is a bit harsh. It's more like "You're making your son especially vulnerable to harassment, assault and other predatory behavior because you allow him into the public eye, bar scenes, and other hostile environments for children and you're a fucking idiot for being surprised this is happening." I think there's a difference between letting your kid play dress up and the drag performances that adult gay men do. Desmond's attempts to imitate adults isn't him saying he's a "sex kid"- he just doesn't know the implications that come with stuff adult drag performers do, like the tearing off articles of clothing, and having dollar bills thrown at them, ect. He's a flamboyant kid and he mimics what adults around him do. I think that there's a difference between people who are disturbed by the fact that this kid is allowed to wear dresses and the people who are upset that he goes to bars at 1 am. I feel like the media tends to lump them into one group.

Also saying that "conservative media" is saying a 12 year old is "asking for it" has me feeling a certain way when it was just one Christian site with their whole "gays are degenerate pervert pedophiles" spiel.
