TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

View attachment 817773

Linkara is crying about Channel Awesome, claiming his dumb audio drama is better than any Anniversary film, and CA is stupid for not letting Linkara take over the brand name.
In the tweet chain Linkara says DiamandaHagen would have been involved, because an obese juggalo clown troon is totally in line with Doug's new family-friendly content.
I'm gonna reply this with one of Lewis's own quotes: "Yes, the movie is a thousand times better. But a thousand times zero still zero!!!"

I made it through five parts. As bad as those anniversary movies were, I could at least get through them. Linkara is a terrible writer and he likes to feature marzgirl. There's a reason why she is so forgettable. She's as charismatic as a wet blanket and as dumb as a box of rocks. Before this whole #kickvic bullshit, I used to actually pity her.
It's actually kinda amazing how much better the CA anniversary movies are than Linkara's own movie. They even look MORE expensive too in some respects. Actually, now that I think about it. The movie barely had any shots that weren't torso level or full body shots. Even the anniversary movies had better cinematography. Well, """cinematography""". And the AT4W movie was funded by Kickstarter or Gofundme or whatever. I think it got 34k from the funding. Even most of the special effects look worse. Like that Mechakara at the end that's trying to emulate the Terminator from the ending of the original movie but you can clearly see he used tin cans and tin foil for the model. It actually would've looked better if he made a CGI model. No joke.
Real thing someone made.png

Man, that's impressive, I could barely get through the preview trailer, it was pretty cringe
I almost quit after within the first 5 minutes, it was unbearable. It was pretty obvious why none of these new guys were never invited before. Most of them are just not interesting or really have anything that sets them apart.

The only part that even got a legitimate laugh out of me. There's a guy that's supposed to be Lovecraft resurrected and some guy points out that Lovecraft was a huge racist, they brush it off and say he doesn't like to talk about it. Like any any of these virtue signalling spergs would ever let that go.

The last part was just too much cringe though. If I didn't stop my head would've exploded.

It's worse. He got over $60,000. For a comparison, here's what Brad did with around $80,000:

It was actually 63k, which considering the many films made for as much or less is inexcusable.

Honestly, it's not the best example. Core audience for Brad's movies is the people who watch his reviews. Other people just won't understand most of the jokes and references. As for his other movies... "Paranoia" was garbage. Competently made, but still garbage with bad acting and the meaning behind the plot being spoonfed to you in the last 10 minutes. He could at least pull Lynch or "Enemy" and let audience scratch their heads, but nope. Don't get me wrong, he is far better than Linky, but "is it watchable at all" is a pretty low bar.

You know, this makes me wonder - have any of those "critics", who know how good plots are made and great characters are created, shot a competently made movie, that wasn't one big stinky reference to pop-culture and their reviews?

The reason I used Brad is because they do rely on their core audience for donations. I also don't know why you're bringing up Paranoia. It only had a budget of around $10k and one of Brad's worst movie, if not the worst( I've heard disco is unwatchable, but I'm not interested in seeing it). So, it's really not really comparable work. I can only make through the writer's on his website due to the fact he does a great job of making it watchable by adding a soundtrack that would normally cost millions to get the licenses for.

Neither is comparing either of these guys to top indie directors. Neither one have that even close to that pedigree.

I'm just in utter shock about how awful anything original linkara produces is. If you showed me his webcomic without knowing who it is, I would think it's drawn by an eight year old and written by ten year old.

When you make drama budget doesn't matter, if you have talent. Look what Trier and Winterberg have managed to create while they followed Dogma - movies without soundtrack and extra lighting, but more than watchable. And no, there is one "movie" that Brad shot, that we will never be able to see, but I feel that is for the best.

Why? It looks exactly like the work of fedora wearing women respecting self loathing egotistical manchild, who is on the spectrum.

I disagree. Even little children have a better clues about how the world works. And that's implying that Linky improved his criticism to something more than "heroes should be good!", "villains should be bad!" and "tities most be fully covered!".

Linkara had been doing videos for seven or eight years by the time he put out his movie. In all the time, and over God knows how many videos produced, he never once learned how to frame or light a shot. It's like he'd never heard of bounce and fill lighting. I'm sure there are tutorials on YouTube.

The worst example is the scene with Lanny at the very beginning, when he has all of the lights on in his apartment. Not only does this have the opposite effect of making Lanny look like a silhouette, but he's got some of his floor lamps blazing in view of the camera.

Watching that movie is like seeing something filmed by a guy who'd never made a video before.

Man, I haven't been a regular follower of Linkara in ages, I can't even remember when exactly I dropped off.

He put out some good videos at the start but there comes a time when his voice really does become beyond grating.

To be fair though I did watch a couple of recent vids not long ago at all, last year maybe? And they were fine, but damn, his voice really is grating as hell.

I clearly remember when I ditched Linkara; it was at the middle of the Lord Vice sperg arc, where I just got sick of him wasting five minutes of run time on shit that you know he knows that no one would watch if he didn't force it into his comics. That he loses to a 40 year old boomer filming his crotch as a reviewer of comics is doubly sad.

Either way, based on what I've seen of his later shit, he amazingly has never gotten better. That takes some serious autism and lack of talent.

Linkara hasn't done anything of note in ages but one positive I can say is at least he reads the stuff he talks about. We can do with more people who don't treat comic stuff as some arcane knowledge you need Wikipedia for, especially when they're a google search away if you know what you're doing, for the sake of doing their one billionth galaxy brain take on Twitter about how Bruce Wayne is totally an evil rich white man who beats up the poor and mentally ill.....despite the source material showing that's very much not the case.

I don't know what Bizarro Linkara would look like but I imagine they'd be dreadful in that department.

Meyer came along to provide a much-needed counterpoint to Linkara's feminist-driven drivel, and it showed that there's a desire for knowledgable comic book critiques without the skits that Lewis uses as his crutch.

I've never understood Linkara's formula, anyway. Is he supposed to be Dr. Who? Why is the comics reviewer also this magic-gun-wielding space traveler? Are these intrusive adventures of his just leftover Lightbringer stories? (Actually... Yes, they are!)

Either way, based on what I've seen of his later shit, he amazingly has never gotten better. That takes some serious autism and lack of talent.
For a guy who puts out that much content, this is what puzzles me the most. Even the most unmotivated producer will learn a new trick or two in the span of a decade.

He has literally has not improved at all since starting his videos. The only quality improvement is entirely due to upgrading his equipment.

Well, that's what I see every time when this question is asked, but is that it? No one else?
We don't need anyone else!

No idea who you're talking about, but as long as his voice isn't as grating, he's got a hell of an advantage. I think about half the reason he's got the audience he has is that linkara I think was pretty early in his niche, at least as an accessible comic book reviewer

He's referring to "Ya Boi Zack", channel name formerly Diversity&Comics. He mostly looks at really cringey nu-Marvel books written by rabid SJW's and laughing at how tonally off putting and lazy they are. As far as his voice goes it's kind of a slow boomer dad voice, no screaming, very subdued, he even has a young daughter that he can get opinions on comics from (btw she hates sjw books too ).
I definitely recommend checking him out if you're interested in a tl;dr refresher on what's been going on in comics lately.
If you already have your ear to the ground on these kinds of issues it might seem repetitive.

Better camera, yes, but he also put on 60 pounds in the process!

The problem is that the formula has remained the same, despite adding in new characters. When a goddamned LAMP becomes story lore, you know you're being lazy. Putting in stupid characters like Fat Grandma doesn't improve the review or offer new insight. It certainly doesn't build anything up, either. They're the definition of gimmicks with the same effect of jangling keys in front of a cat. But I think that's the problem. Neither Doug nor Linkara have moved beyond the 2009 "angry reviewer" archetype because it's all they know how to do. Linkara can't write, he can't direct, his ideas are stale and hackneyed, and he's bogged down with virtue-signalling for social justice. 10 years of doing this stuff, and he's exactly where he was at 19 and 60 pounds ago.

At this point, I wish Iron Liz would show him how reinvent himself, but I doubt he'd be able to eat a steak, learn to dress himself, fire a gun, and generally stop being a giant pussy.
