It's... I don't know how but it's sound very unoriginal? Maybe it's because I'm an asshole classic music listener but it's sound like several different styles patched each others, broken with silents.

That's sort of the problem I had is that it felt like things were smooshed together. As an asshole classic music listener, what did you think of his other two pieces that can be found in this link?
I think it's the same reason white guys are some of his main influences, he uses white techniques, and etc. Maybe social justice has destroyed his enjoyment of something as innocent as his taste in music that he has to fight and hate it. At least that's my theory.

On the Mountains of Orphalese -- may be the word Mountains threw me, but it sounds like third-rate Hovhaness. He fails Harmony and it shows: there are a lot of flat notes that gives the piece a very listless feel. Unlike Hovhaness, it is not elevated or spiritual at all. The piece is also poorly organized: the handling of crescendo is especially clumsy (trying to pull a Shostakovich?!). A military march appears out of nowhere (patchwork approach again, which I don't necessary object to).
Prayer for the Fireworshipper -- am I listening to video game music? The Harmony, again, is facile.
An aside: legit middle-eastern composers tend not to be very successful writing in western idioms. I've struggled to understand the music of Adnan Saygun, wildly regarded as the harbinger of modern Turkish music. Fazil Say, Turkish pianist, always wins accolade when performing other people's works, but his own compositions are almost universally panned. Say also writes in the "patchwork" style, but with lots of musical quotations.
On the other hand, middle-eastern musicians are very successful in Jazz.

It is not weird at all considering all traditional middle-eastern music rely heavily on improvisation.

The Mountain of Orphalese: Exactly. And he don't use the full potential of the instruments, there's no communication between them, no conversation. Like you said the crescendo are clumsy, so the build up is not done and the climax falls flat.
Prayer of the Fireworshipper : the accidentals are not working together, same between the voices and instruments. Again, the full potential is not reached with the vocalists. I feel the same unfinished vibe. But lol it sound like a Final Fantasy soundtrack sometimes.
I felt very fustrated listening to his pieces. It's like eating a donut without icing, something is missing.
My conclusion : no passion at all in his works.

Automatic praise for me, meritocracy for thee.... you have to work for it, but I get it by default for existing. "Some animals are more equal than others".
The rottenness of SJW/PCism was that this was it's core value from the beginning.
That there was a fair way to apply unfair (i.e. - unequal) standards.
People saw it, tried to point it out, but it was hopeless, they were shouted down as bigots. Or at the most benign, the unfairness was acknowledged but they isnsisted it was only to "level the playing field", if things improved, we could always return to the old way of doing it, one law for all, we just need to handicap YOU so the rest can "catch up" to some nebulous "fair" position that you alone occupy right now (and probably cheated to get to).
It took 20 years of ever-increasing hypocrisy and idiocy before even the most strident defender of PC neo-fairness had to concede that it was a bankrupt idea that only enforces what they joined up to fight.... putting everyone into classes defined by race and sex, with some destined to never rise and some to never fall, and damn their individual motives or contexts.
It's why reparations is a bad idea, there is no fair way to implement a legal structure that sets out to disproportional punish based on subjective notions of "suffering" or "disrespect" instead of objective suffering "Yep, he's dead" or "Yep, $123,034.32 is missing from the bank vault"
It's also, fundamentally, why liberals HATE conservatives and their "unfeeling" numbers or tendency to ask "Who pays for that?"

To be fair those pieces could have been way way worse judging from the parts I skimmed through. I'm all for people experimenting with strange harmonies, and it can be hard to make it sound good when you go outside the traditional box. But he is not the music god and destroyer of western music like he wants to be. More like an early 20th century harmony breaker wannabe mixed with current year social justice activist crap
