This is one of the most underrated funny things he's ever done.
His aunt passed away, and he was trying his fucking hardest to act like he was so broken up and sad.
He gets suspended on Twitch and completely forgets any fake sadness he had for her.
Then out of no where he blames his gout on her. "Thanks Aunt."

Strange how Phil was more upset over Etika dying than his own aunt. And he didn't even know who Etika was.

To all those offering solutions to Phil's problems; he dosent give a single fuck. He knows you're probably right but he will never do anything that "detractors" suggest because he didn't think of it and can't take credit for it. Not to mention if he solves his money troubles there goes his way to get easy money for gin and WWE Network.

I mean who knows? He might've already sold his other condo, he will never admit it until he can stroke his own ego with it without it hurting his cashflow. For all we know he could be perfectly fine momentarily and just be begging for extra money.

But the tl;dr to take from this is that 100% of the time Phil would rather be a complete fuckup and mess everything up rather than admit his critics are right about literally anything.

The only people who Phil would ever take advice from, and I'm not even sure NPD people truly have these, would be his actual friends. Like friends he likes and sees as equals, not patrons, syncophants or women who depend on him for shelter.

But since Phil's closest buddies were his legacy's first casualty... There's a certain level of safe space Phil needs to take criticism, but these days that's basically the escape velocity of a black hole; theoretically possible, but effectively unreachable.

"Former pro fighting game player" and "King of Retro" refuses to play Samurai Shodown, a loveletter to 90s fighting games.

A game which hypes the audience with high risk, high reward gameplay and flashy, as well as damaging super attacks.
A game which is catered to fighting game veterans, who outplay their opponents with fundamentals, rather than high execution.
A game which Phil probably would even be decent at.

Again, DSP is his own biggest detractor

Yeah, I bet inwardly he was having a fucking party over it, because that means one less person/competitor that makes more money than him. He only "cared" because the subject would garner enough sympathy and drive views and donations up. DSP is the literal graverobber of the gaming world; he makes a living off the dead, as evidence with his friend that passed away.

Phil's whole deal with fighting games lately seems to be that he hates games with long combos now because he sucks at doing them and it sucks to be stuck in a long combo. Look how he plays Mortal Kombat. Low jab into throw all day. He can't combo to save his life even when it's dial-a-combos. You'd think Samurai Showdown's high risk high reward big single hits style would be perfect for him.

Oh wait, no he'd just bitch about people online always throwing out the big heavy slash that takes off a third of your life, and he can't react because he's a braindead boomer with shit reaction time you can't react to that attack online dood!

Funny because Samurai Shodown is considered one of the greatest fighting game franchises. It was a HUGE hit back in the day and so far the reception on the new game has been great aside from the netcode. But 4th place oldschool Evo champion Phil won't touch it.

It's almost stolen valor at this point. Anyone who actively plays retro games would roll their fucking eyes at him for claiming to be the king of something he rarely touches then go back to playing Centipede.

Unless he claims Street Fighter as retro then there you go *snort*.
