I brought this up in the spoony thread because his situation reminds me of spoony. We met at a place we used to work he was a bit of a sped but so am I, we got along fine .He's one of those people i cant be around for long periods of time because after a while his personality starts to get grating. We both ended up quitting for better jobs but continued to hang out. he starts dating this girl and about a year later he calls me and is pissed off. He starts ranting about how he hates his job and asked me what I thought of twitch streamers. So I tell him its impossibly hard for some no name guy from the sticks who has zero internet presence to become successful. He took this to mean I approve of them. He says he's thinking about quitting his job to become a streamer. I tell him that's dumb and he should keep his job and get his electricians certification. After that he'll be making cash by the boat load. He says hes gonna quit cause his boss doesn't respect him enough and if he needs a job he'll find one that gives him more respect. A month later he calls me again and tells me he quit and is starting his streaming channel. By his calculations he was going to be making enough money after a month of streaming to pay all his and his girlfriends bills.
MFW. I try to politely tell him this plan is pants on head exceptional but he wont listen as is standard for him. He thinks he knows more about anything than any one and when hes decided to do something no amount of facts or reason will dissuade him. Cut to two years later and he hasn't made a single penny from twitch and wont get a job. He claims he cant find one despite the fact there are help wanted signs posted all over my town. He claims he wants a job where they respect him (Whatever the fuck that means) so until then hes streaming on twitch. He used to stream 20 hours a week but claimed that was to much work and made him to tired and now he streams 5-9 hours sporadically through the week. He still calls me from time to time and tells me how his streaming career (yes he unironically calls it that) is going and how hes gonna be partnered by twitch soon then he'll be making bank. Lately he claims to be interviewing for part time jobs he can work on Saturdays and Sundays. Cause he needs the week for his streams. I don't like or respect this guy. I keep tabs on him cause he's a potential lolcow. At the moment he doesn't have any internet presence outside twitch and his streams are boring as hell.
