She likely is pissed off that she never got to be Vic's handler, or on the opposite-side - she's pissed off that she sperged her distain for Vic to the con directors and got either ignored or told to shut up and deal with it.
Another (more likely) possibility is she thinks Vic is a homophobe and didn't want Vic anywhere near the con for that reason. As I've thought for a while, I think many people have been pushing this narrative just because the vast majority never gave a crap about the homophobe accusations.

Honestly, after talking with other people who are hard-right, evangelical etc. I am less inclined to call people like Vic homophobic.

There are plenty of claims, with little to no evidence, of him being homophobic. Just because he doesn't drape himself in the rainbow flag. Everything I've been able to find is that he simply has a live and let live attitude, and that's far from "gas the gays" attitude he's claimed to have.

But... but he refused to sign that piece of disgusting gay incest child porn "fan art" years ago! That's just REEEvil!

How are these niggers going to say they care about preventing people from being victimized by sexual predators and in the next breath make excuses for why they didn't contact police after supposedly witnessing an assault on a minor? Like, how do they do it with a straight face?

Really, with the pants he wears I doubt it. Frankly, in the beginning watching several videos of him I thought he was gay.

I think if he did anything at all to make her butthurt years later it was mistaking her for a dude like everyone else does.

These morons don't actually care, either that or they live so deep up their ass in their fantasy world that every moment of their life is akin to a magical girl anime.

Maybe it should be industry standard to get a mental evaluation for volunteering, so that con runners know that their volunteers aren't trying to get themselves/other people isekai'd in the worst case scenario and will do the proper thing when they see something wrong.

It's funny you say that. Due to events from our last event, our convention is ACTUALLY instituting a strong screening process, with references and are planning on getting some material put down on paper (like a handbook for volunteers) for how to handle situations that come up.

We're a relatively small convention but have been changing industry standards in the past few years, so we're hoping that it'll spark a trend. Other conventions in our area have been seeing very similar sperging as of late, it's like they're on a timer.
That timer was just 2016. Trump just made all the deranged individual go into overdrive as if hes the fucking anti-christ.

If cons started mental health evaluating the staff for dangerous psychosis they wouldn't have any staff at all.

I'd recommend some sort of contract for volunteers to sign if you haven't got one already. One that explicitly states that they have read and understand their job and will take the necessary steps to perform them, no excuses with penalization if not followed correctly.

That way if any of these troons try something like this shit, you can simply bring up their contract and say "Well, here you signed this legal document and reported no such incident" or some other shit.

I'd take that bet all day, every day. Most cons are run by and populated with dudes with poor social skills that're often conflict averse (which is why all the thots are no doubt used to bullying their way to whatever they want). If someone reported one of their guests to the cops, the con would scramble into "damage control" mode, but most con Orgs would (at least privately) probably be happy they didn't have to confront the guests directly.

I'd agree that a lot of things get swept under the rug for a variety of reasons, but if someone was a potential liability like that, a con would just not invite them back and move on. I've seen guests put on the "thanks but we're all full for this year" (every year) list simply for being IRRITATING.

In many states, and Texas among them, it is literally a crime to fail to report such an occurrence. These slimy criminals could go to jail, or they could if they were telling the truth.

We actually instituted and are having all staff/volunteers sign off on non-disclosure agreements. We have explored the options we have to enforce it, and in the very least - will terminate their staffing/volunteering commitments on the spot if they breach.

There would be legal recourse as well, but in reality - don't have the funds for. So, hopefully the risk of such would be enough of a deterrent; that's what we're hoping anyway.

We've had leaks that cost us high-profile guests and even lost a venue over communications that were blown out of context, and jeopardized our event. Thankfully, our crew was strong enough to turn that into an even larger successful year than the previous. If it weren't for some quick thinking, we would have just been yet another convention burnt down by the trolls.

A lot of conventions start out as a group of fans who have no business sense, and then bad habits just become part of the foundation.

Better conventions learn-on-the-fly or evolve, and realize that when nobody on their staff has a security license or is actually a police officer, they are likely better off to leave it up to the professionals, lest the REALLY want to fuck it all up and wind up in court years later, themselves.

So, Clownfish TV revealed some background info about Tekko Con:
- The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (who runs Tekko Con) also runs Sangawa Project 2019, which only have two guests announced at the moment:
Monica Rial and Jamie Marchi
- Kneon also noted in Tekko Con's past that Funimation acted as a sponsor for the con, providing handouts, lanyards, and such.
- Based on this information, they speculated Vic's chances of being invited as a guest are very slim.

That's a great idea, but unfortunately largely unrealistic. The sad fact is that maybe 30-50% of your volunteers will be reliable enough to go through that effort. The rest you probably won't see till start of con and really not have time to go through that process. It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario where you either limit to reliable, good, informed team but then are understaffed, or "take what you can get" and a sizable percentage is a crapshoot. As it is, it's usually a coinflip if people are going to both a) show up and b) actually DO their job rather than flake out on duty.

I've got nothing against Sangawa Project (or Tekko) but is it just me, or is anyone else amused that Jamie's name is misspelled on their Guests page?
