The real question is if he did start doing that how many people would go for it. I'm not too familiar with Metokur. But since I started looking into him a few weeks ago and looking at his fanbase, it's easy to see his fans are on the unhinged side.

I've been wondering about this but the thread is kinda crazy. You've talked to Metokur. He's really concerned about the lawsuit? This Montograph guy actually has him concerned? I only know Metokur from the Deviant's videos, a couple streams, Nick Bate, a few others. From what people I've talked to they said he's not an easy person to spook.
I don't think this is true of everyone but for some people it seems like Jim is a relic from the old internet. His morals, style, even his focus on anonymity is reminiscent of another time and they filter his actions though their nostalgia goggles. I don't think it's a bad thing but it explains why some people get so attached to him.

How does Null have a Monopoly on anything? Every website on the planet talks about weirdos and freaks in some capacity. Is Down The Rabbit Hole also threatening Null's 'Monopoly'? How about Ethan Ralph, or Sargon, or Mundane Matt?
Lawsuits are scary. I'm more sympathetic after talking to him, but I can't fucking stand the cult of personality.
I've never seen Sammy lie about intentions. He'll keep his promises. I think if Jim avoids calling him a pedophile, he won't sue.
I understand. I've seen the same issues with a lot of media. The rabid fanbase acts so insufferable and stupid that I become repulsed even at the mention of the media they like. Think of that cartoon with the lesbian space rocks. The fandom around it is one of the more pychotic Tumblr fandoms. Bullying people into suicide, etc.

He's flat out admitted that he gets significant volumes of info from here, and I don't care. Maybe in some weird, arbitrary, detached way it spurs on some jealousy, but it's an open forum meant to be read. Tens of thousands of people post here hoping people read what they say, and Jim's not the only one using the site as a primary resource. We've seen major publications use our information. We've been cited in academic papers in studies on Bitcoin. He's not even the only online Internet weirdo video maker that uses the site. It is what it is. People hoping to turn this into a Me vs. Him thing are delusional.

This comes after Jim reached out to me, but I still maintain he should have waited for the lawsuit to drop before announcing any tertiary monetization because otherwise it looks grasping. OR, just move to Dlive and say the merch is to make up for income less.
One hand came after talking to him, the other before it. I think during the stream with Rekieta, Jim was really hoping to hear Nick say Montagraph was utterly incompetent and there'd be an easy way to automatically dismiss his lawsuits, but the reality is Quest is not stupid and he is applying himself to his work. If he takes the time to study more, he's competent enough to file a sufficiently problematic lawsuit that will last beyond the basic sanity tests of the court. I'm leaning more he is genuinely concerned about Montagraph, but I still think he should have waited or went with a different pretense.
