I'm not a musical expert in the slightest, but I listened to a few of his tracks and whew boy. The one I liked the best was Prayer For the Fireworshipper- it wasn't bad, honestly, and it does sound like it's from a video game ost. My only gripe is that occasionally the singers would clash either against each other or the music. That was the musical equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. However, the song as a whole is alright, if very forgettable.
On the Mountains of Orphalase feels like it might have potential, but it currently sounds like my high school orchestra is warming up to it. It needs to go through about six revisions before it starts sounding passable. The part with the flute and the xylophone from 3:13-4:00 wasn't bad, I actually quite liked that. Probably because it felt finished and polished, unlike the rest of the song.
Decolonized Arabesques fucking sucked. I didn't even make it through the whole thing before tapping out. It sounded so confusing and cluttered. Most of the notes sound tentative or half assed, like the musicians looked down at their sheet music and thought "Hold up, they want us to play this?" It's a lifeless and ugly peice and if he really wants to get rid of classical music, it'd be in his best interest to create something actually better than it to replace it. However, from the three peices that I've heard, I doubt he has even a sliver of the ability to match up against the greats.
