I thank you all for your concern about me. But if in the event Film Connection Limited turns out to be a scam, Simeon isn't at least. I talked to him today addressing the concerns my best friend had about finding its website and its location information. He thanked me for the information he didn't know before and said he would investigate on his own and that if this company turns out to be unreliable he will still ensure to find another one that will get my movie made. I trust him on this, and he did find two real film companies at least that just turned me down for each their own reasons. And he knows he has to live up to his promise to me especially as I have already paid him for making the business plan.
I've been paying him since April. I've paid $1,250 for his working on look for a film company to make my movie. And for making the business plan I've paid him $550 so far and still owe him $750 for it which I'm paying in installments whenever I can.
ARE YOU CRAZY?!

You claimed he loves you and wants to marry you, right? You told us you had no interest in him and that you had told him, so one- that's leading him one, as you seem to believe he's telling the truth (he isn't), and two what's to stop him from talking revenge for "not falling for him" back and just stringing you along? If you haven't met this guy in real life then you can't say whether he means it or not.

Please just stop, just sit down, don't pay him for a while, and see if he still likes you.

:story::story::story:
Oh my God, you are completely re.tarded. I honestly thought the only people that fell for Nigerian scam artists were old women, but here your dumb ass is, sending some man you don't know hundreds and hundreds of dollars for literally nothing.

You see, this is why people make fun of you on here.

I step away from this thread for several years and I come back to find the person of interest is now being scammed out of hundreds of dollars by an incredibly obvious Nigerian con-man because she believes that he'll make her CGI movie about a minor character from a Wizard of Oz book nobody read.
What the fuck did I miss?
(also, Cynthia is proving that natural selection is still going strong)

I'm in the same boat as you man, things have gotten waaayyy out of hand.

@WogglebugLover, please believe me when I say that everyone here would much prefer it if you stopped having contact with this individual. We have your best interests in mind, and we can steer you towards a way to get this movie made more reasonably than this man, who's just going to take your money and do nothing with it.

Well, tell me how can you? Maybe I will listen if that is the case.

Check to see if your local community college has a film program. If they do get one of the film students (or even one of the professors) to help you make a five to ten minute short with a budget between $150-300 dollars. The content of this five to ten minute short should sell your Wogglebug idea as something that could be made into a movie.. Doing this through a community college allows you access to cameras, equipment, extras, actors and actresses (Acting One classes will often pitch in to help as it gives the students practice) and rooms to film in. After your short is made have a family member drive you/take Uber to a film festival/convention where you'll have a chance to meet actual professionals/business contacts in the industry who will be more than happy to help you get started. And if you're doubtful of this method this is how Mike Judge (of King of the Hill and Beavis and Butthead fame) got noticed.

I'll see if something like this is possible. Thanks.

@8777BB5 is right, you need to make a short proof of concept film first, no more than 15 minutes. It's fine if it doesn't have the full plot, you're just showing people what you have planned. You're going to need to go all in on this though, really fill it up with everything that you've got, but set a harsh limit on your budget and stick to it.
I'd also recommend Lloyd Kaufmann's books Make Your Own Damn Movie, Produce Your Own Damn Movie, and Sell Your Own Damn Movie. Lloyd is a low budget independent industry veteran with a lot of good advice for people in similar positions to yours, and the books are a good read in their own right.

I'll see if I can find those books.

Please stop paying this guy. Immediately. You are being scammed and will not see anything come from that money you already spent.

Has he sent you the business plan yet? If not, good. Block his emails, stop payments on any checks or money orders and break off all contact. This is a scam.

The idea of using a community college to make a short film is a great one. Starting there may lead to success. A "business plan" for a movie that doesn't exist yet isn't sensible. Please, Cynthia, for all of our crude humor we don't want you to get taken advantage of.

Just so you know, Simeon has in fact sent me the complete business plan some time ago.

Not gonna lie that's a fun hamburger ad. Wonder where it's from?

can you show us the outline and proof that he's done the things on it?

Do you want me to upload the complete file onto here? And the business plan is for Film Connection Limited, or whatever film company accepts my script.
